Sunday 12.20.2009

I slept pretty good, finally. I woke about 0930. When I was dressed and ready for the day, Frank was up, too. I had heard Dan's alarm go off and knew that he had gotten up, but that's about it.

We had breakfast and visited, and went out for a drive, heading southeast, as Frank works in Chelsea. As we drove we looked for For Sale signs, finding what seemed to be pockets--areas where there were several properties with signs out front. We stopped at several and Frank wrote down the information to look up later. We got as far as Stockbridge. We drove around the village and found several there, sometimes pulling into the driveway to gather the information.

We found one that when he got out to read the listing page that was posted on the front window, he came back to get me. "Mom," he said, "there's a flowing creek in the back. Want to go look??" Of course I did.

We walked around the place, which might be livable but needs a lot of attention, and he was excited. Lots of possibilities. His fire having been lit, every for sale sign sparked his imagination and we dreamed about the potentials and some of the realities.

Back home we started looking them up for pricing after I put together something for us to eat. The one with the creek was only 29,900. It may not meet the criteria he has for his loan. One other we saw, and was the number two on his favorites list, was also in his price range, but had a michigan basement. That doesn't work with his asthma. He crossed that one off.

Dan had gotten home from work shortly after we had. The three of us were talking about the "what-ifs" when Frank's phone rang. Oddly enough, it was a realtor that he had spoken to many weeks ago, checking in with him. She had a list of properties to review with him, and they are going to get together Tuesday morning. How fun!

After a while, Dan went to bed (he almost made it to 7 o'clock), Frank left, and I went out for gasoline and groceries.

Tomorrow is a work day for both of us.

Thank you for reading. Hugs.
