Worked. Busy. The kind of busy when you go from room to nurses' station to room, to medication room, to nourishment room, up and down the hall all day. Doctors, phone calls, patient needs. Bleeders, feeders, post-ops. Questions and reassurances.
Out-of-the-ordinary events that bring awareness that human bodies need humans to take care of them. And Humans need to take care of their human bodies. That every body is the same. And every body is different. And reacts the same. And reacts differently. Unpredictably.
Yet we human brains put the pieces together and caringly tend to each of the human bodies we are entrusted to.
Isn't that what Health Care Professionals do??
I finally had to stop and take care of my own human body--finally getting food about 12:45. That's a long time from 0545.
I was surprised that when I looked at the census board about 3pm that we didn't have any open beds left. No wonder it seemed like we were busy...!!!! Much thanks to LH for staying and jumping in. We finally got our work done.
A quiet night at home.
Tomorrow is groceries and maybe food prep.
Please, take care of your human body.
Hugs.
