What a day Friday!!
I worked, with the greatest co-workers EVER!!! We had a total of 9 babies on our shift--all HEALTHY--Praise God--and even though some of us were working outside of our comfort zone, we pulled together as a team, and all was well. Challenging to be so busy, and we got through it. I am proud to be a part of that group of women. You Rock!!
When I got home, I changed clothes and went back to the store for a few groceries. I didn't want to have to go out Saturday morning...
After a shower I tried getting on the internet, but I'm beginning to think it's "fickle"--sometimes it seems to freeze up or just not want to move to the next screen. I've run virus scans and all seems to be ok; so when I got on the computer last night to blog, it was "frozen", and I just close the lid and went to bed.
And I slept pretty darn good, thank you God.
This morning I went out for a run. Cooled off, breakfast, and showered, started laundry. A little internet stuff, and I went out to take care of a couple of errands, the last of which was stopping at the UHaul place to inquire about a cargo trailer.
I'm glad I did.
I ended up picking up a smaller trailer than what I wanted, because the larger one wasn't available at "my location". And I didn't want to drive anywhere to pick it up....
I called Frank, who was available to help. We met at the house, and went to the storage unit in Holt, cramming the trailer and van full of the boxes of my life, tucked in around the metal storage shelving. We were able to get 3 of the units in, but had most of the "stuff".
We unloaded, and even though Frank had plans for the afternoon/evening, he stayed to help me. What a Guy!! I fixed some supper and ate, and we went back to Holt, picking up the remaining few boxes and 4 more shelving units, leaving the last one there, along with a few items of Daniel's. I'll go back tomorrow to get that stuff, and drop his stuff to the condo, and return the trailer.
I need to shower, finish the laundry, and play in the basement for a bit before going to bed.
Thank you God for the Most Awesome Day.
And thank you for reading. Hugs.

Sunday--Monday 06.27.2012, 06.28.2012
Sunday was a beautiful day--sunny and hot. I was packed and ready to leave the JC before the Webinar started at 4 pm. Ron walked down Memory Lane and visited with J&P at the GC while I was working.
When he came back, and I was done, we loaded the van, stopped at the JC (so I could give my hugs) and headed downstate.
Got him to Aunt EM's, I went on my way. I finally got home after midnight, and both unloaded and unpacked and ready for bed by 0130.
Monday 0450 came way to soon. I got up and ready for work.
We had a good day, staffing down as the census decreased.
A shower and a phone call, and I'm ready for bed.
My ear has just a little discomfort left in it; I'm thinking another couple days yet before it's all better.

Tuesday 06.26.2012
We had a good day today, with sunshine blue skies, mid 80's. A laid back morning; I fixed us a good breakfast of taters and onions and eggs. Cleaned up the kitchen and the phone calls started. This transition stuff can get complicated and time consuming.
We went into Hale to go "Fish-ing", spending a whopping $4 on 2 bags of stuff. The best fun he's had in a while, Ron said.
It was nice to have him here helping. I got the van out of the garage, and he washed the van while I swept the garage. We burned leaves and finished a little yard work. I fixed our supper, and we enjoyed the Bug Free Zone (BFZ) in the evening while looking at family photos. What fun, reminiscing and sharing our memories.
Tomorrow is predicted to be 90 degrees. The plan so far is to get our closing chores mostly done, and after my late afternoon webinar, finish packing and loading the van. We plan to stop for dinner and get on back down state.
The loons are amazing; with the lake mirror quiet we can hear their voices echoing for what seems like miles. So cool.
I thank God for sharing His world with me.

Sunday--Monday 06.24.2012
Worked Sunday, finally able to leave early about 5pm. Which was good, because I was able to do a couple of household chores/maintenance items before leaving to go to the lake.
I got to Flint, stopping at Aunt EM's. happily surprised to see W and F. Cousin Ron took me to the basement to show me the necessary remodel job, which is coming along quite well. A brief visit, we loaded Ron's things into my car, and off we went.
An uneventful trip north. All was well at the JC. Cool, a bit of a breeze, and 57 degrees. We unloaded and settled in for the night.
Monday was bright blue skies with white clouds. I went out for a run after it warmed up for a bit.
I fixed a wonderful breakfast for us, and we each had telephone appointments to do.
In the afternoon we put the screen room up, which was very slick.
We put dinner together and ate, more telephone stuff, then enjoyed the bug-free zone the rest of the evening.
Tomorrow I'll get the van out and ready to bring home to get finish moving the storage unit. And, basically, just enjoy being here.
My ear is finally feeling better. Still a little full, but better.

Another good day at the J.O.B. with the best co-workers ever. I am so blessed.
And after work, the short ride home (another blessing!). I started getting things together for the 3 days I'll be at the lake, leaving tomorrow night after work.
I hope to sleep longer tonight--waking at 0300--and staying awake--is not a good thing with a 12 and 1/2 hour workday.
My right ear is still a little "full" and now a little sore. Alas, the motrin doth help....

Friday 06.22.2012
A pretty good day today.
Worked my way through the financial paperwork stuff (bill-paying), then got ready to go to Holt for a couple other errands.
A few stops there, and a safe drive home, thank you God.
After a bite to eat, I vacuumed the upstairs, then used the shop vac in the basement. Now it's ready to bring the shelving units from the storage unit.
I fixed a little supper and had a nice phone conversation, and now it's time for bed.
My right ear is still a little swollen feeling, and the motrin does help. Maybe I should keep that "on board" so it feels better....

The first day of summer! Ahhh.....
It was hot for most of the day, too. I went for a run this morning before 9, and that sun was starting to get really hot. Breakfast, shower, and over to the dentist for a cleaning.
And, bummer, they found another cavity. It amazes me how we can take care of our teeth the same way, pretty consistently, and have decay crop up every few years or so.
I also had an appointment with the benefits person to get that piece updated. Moving right along....
Stopping at Meijer for a few groceries, I was surprised when I came out that it was raining. I was even more surprised that, just a mile down the road, it wasn't. I fixed my supper and sat outdoors for a while, listening to the birds and watching the clouds roll by. It finally did rain a little, enough to chase me inside for a bit, but has dried up this evening.
Tomorrow is paperwork and getting ready for the work weekend. And Sunday night I'd like to leave for the lake for a few days. Kind of depends on how busy we are, and how tired I might be.
My ear is still swollen feeling; the motrin made a nice difference. And it's time for another.

Another great day!!
Slept pretty good in my own bed, with my own pillow, waking to my own alarm clock.....wait...what? Yup, time to get up....
We had a good work day with the best co-workers. I was able to attend a meeting that wasn't on my calendar. Don't remember if I knew about it, but it wasn't on my planner. But thanks to LH, I was able to go. Yippee! Thanks, LH!
And instead of one of us going home, I ended up helping out in miscellany ways until time to clock out.
Tomorrow is a dental cleaning, and I'm not sure what else yet. Lots of things to do, though.
I'm kinda tired tonight, and my right ear is "full" feeling and a little sore. (My ears don't fly well--even with motrin, tylenol, sudafed, a nasal inhaler, and the "EarPlanes" ear plugs to help equalize the pressure.) The eustachian tube feels swollen. I'm thinking it will probably be better after another 24-48 hours.

Tuesday 06.19.2012 Home...
Another great day!
We got up this morning and went to the obstetrician. Jenny is doing well, 28 1/2 weeks, doctor says she is right on track for a September 9 due date. Woo Hoo!!
Back at the house, she went to work, I collected my things, laundered the bed and put it back together, cleaned the bathroom, and went for a walk.
I rode with Jeremy to Savannah, where he dropped me at the airport terminal before going to work (his job site is at the airport).
Good flights from Savannah to Charleston to Detroit, where a friend picked me up.
All is well at the house, and I'm glad to be home. Tired and hot, but the air is on and slowly lowering the temperature inside.
This trip was one of the best things I could have done for myself.

Another great day!!
Sunshine, blue skies, occasional fluffy white clouds, mid 80's. Ahhh.
Jeremy and Jenny both worked today; Jenny works from home, but was in her office working. The dog went back and forth, laying in front of her door, then coming to lay by me. We went outdoors a few times, and I found a shady spot to sit and enjoy the day. Lola, the dog, went and laid in her shady spot, too.
I was able to participate in the webinar for the J.O.B., a 22 month project that will be intense and exciting, bringing lots of good things to us at Allegiance Health. Watch for a national news release on June 20...
Jeremy got home, and Jenny works until 5 pm. After, we went out and ran errands, having Mexican food for supper tonight. Yummy. As good as, and almost better than, my favorite Los Tres Amigos.
Back at the house, we walked the neighborhood, and when we got back, we opened the box with the new car seat. Neither Jeremy nor Jenny knew how it worked. I "inserviced" them, and Jeremy installed the base in the vehicle, and we had good laughs about the buckles and clips and the operations of the whole thing. But I know that the child will be safely restrained, and that they both know how to install and remove the base correctly.
Tomorrow is an early morning obstetrician appointment that Jenny, and Jeremy, have asked if I would like to accompany them to. I am humbled and honored to have been asked. Of course I'm delighted to go.
And I have to leave tomorrow, finally getting in to Detroit about 8:30 pm. Pray for safe flights....
I am truly blessed to be able to share this time with my firstborn and his soon-to-be firstborn.
Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Sunday 06.17.2012 Fathers Day
What a great few days!!
The last post was Thursday night. Since then, I worked Friday, and it was a very busy day. After work, I finished getting my things together, and one of my friends picked me up and took me down to another co-worker's home in Hudson, MI.
That family is vacationing in Hilton Head, SC, and driving down--she offered me a ride one or both ways, as my Jeremy lives in Bluffton, SC, which is just inland of Hilton Head. We left their home in a rented van at 11 pm. She, her husband, and two teenagers, and myself.
We had an uneventful ride and arrived in Bluffton about 2 pm Saturday afternoon. (Yes, we drove straight through) 85 degrees and blue skies.... Beautiful. Much thanks to the Kern family--I hope your week on the island is wonderful!!
My Jeremy and Jenny are awesome. She has a nice little belly (and getting bigger--she's due the first part of September). Friday evening we went over to The Island (Hilton Head) for a wonderful dinner at the Skull Creek Boathouse. I slept awesome-ly well Friday night, and Saturday we ate and talked and walked and enjoyed.
Today, after breakfast, (it's a laid-back group here), we launched Jeremy's big boat at the launch on Hilton Head, and cruised to Beaufort. Docked there, walked a boardwalk, ate at Panini's, cruised back. 87 degrees on the water. A-mazing!!! I do SO love the water...
Back at the house, we got the boat unloaded and Jeremy powerwashes the salt from it, hooks the hose to each of the 200 horse motors and cleans them out, as well as the trailer. Then we grilled a most wonderful supper!!
We walked around the neighborhood and had a nice evening in air conditioned comfort.
Tomorrow they each have to work, and I have a work obligation, also, in the late afternoon.
I'm here till Tuesday, and lovin' every minute of it.
Thank you God, for this life, and

Thursday 06.14.2012 Flag Day
Thanks to all who have helped this country maintain the flag.
This day is a day that changes my statistics.
It is with heavy heart that I write, that Daniel and I are now divorced.
The judge said it was so, and the data is now entered into history.
I'm doing ok; sad, disappointed.
Tomorrow is a workday.
And I'm leaving after work to go to visit Jeremy and Jenny for a few days.
As I've said before, hug 'em while you got 'em.
Thank you for reading. Hugs.

What a beautiful day today!
I was able to get a few loads of laundry done and dried on the solar dryer, with a little help from the gas dryer. Took a trip to Holt, and when I got back, I fired up my little grill and fixed my supper and ate.
The rest of the evening I put things away and am getting things ready to go to South Carolina on Friday for a few days.
Tomorrow is appointments and meetings.

What a busy day today!! So glad there weren't very many patients... And I worked with one of my most favorite teammates.
I felt a little "funny" again for a bit this noon, but it was time to eat (without time to eat) and timed tasks to do. Something I have learned these last several years is to ask for help---and I did. I went and got food and ate, and magically felt better.
When I got home I had a snack, changed clothes, went for groceries. Tomorrow is another load of laundry or two and a trip to Holt.

Monday 06.11.2012
Been a few days since I've posted--
Thursday night after work I went up to the Lake, arriving about 0130 Friday morning. Had beautiful weather with an overnight rain Friday night. I got the front deck stained Saturday afternoon, finishing it Sunday. Shared meals with Evelyn and Bob; and Polly, Jim, and Anne. Had drop-in company Sunday afternoon as I was getting ready to leave, but they had stopped by to swim and eat their lunch. How fun it was to hear their laughter and splashing! I smile again as I write this.
I got home much later Sunday night than intended, and went to bed after getting unloaded, unpacked, and turned around for the workday today.
I was surprised this morning that I felt so tired, or something. So much so that I was just a phone call away from having someone come in to take over for me. I felt "off" and wanted to go home and rest. It turned out that we needed to staff down, and as I was getting ready to go, the nursery needed help and we shifted staff instead. After they settled down it was near end-of-shift, and I stayed and finished the job. And I was feeling better, too, thank you God.
I've done laundry and looked at some of the stuff on the internet, but I'm way far behind in business calls and such. Ack.
Tomorrow is another day with the same crew. I do enjoy working with those girls....

Wednesday 06.06.2012
I had a short sleep last night, and even though the radio woke me, the brain struggled to stay awake. Once I got up and moved around I was better.
A long, busy day at the J.O.B. And after work, a stop at a retirement party for one of my wonderful co-workers and friend.
After I got home I got turned around to do it all again tomorrow, including getting things gathered to go to the lake this weekend. The weather is projected to be fine, and I'm looking forward to being there.
I'm off to bed.
Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Tuesday 06.06.2012
Wow--I realized earlier today that I didn't write last night.
After Monday's appointment with Leah, who did wonderful work for my body (thank you, Leah), I showered and ate and went on over to Flint. Well, Clio, actually.
AEM was doing very well with her recuperation/rehab after a fall several weeks ago. And she called me today to say that she was going home Wednesday morning. Yippee!!
After visiting with her and some other family members, I went on over to Flushing to visit AL and Di. We had a great afternoon. On the way back home, I stopped at the storage unit, since I was passing through, and loaded my car. I got the car unloaded, I washed up, and went to bed.
Today I got up and went for a run. Breakfast, shower, and time to go for a meeting. That lasted most of the afternoon. I did a couple errands afterwards, had a bite back at the house, and went back to Holt for my last official Board meeting for the condo association. My term expired, as well as another persons, and there were a couple volunteers for the open positions. I had fun, calling myself President...
Back to the storage unit for another car full, unloaded into the basement. I'm going to need to bring down some shelving pretty soon.
Tonight I'm a bit tired.
Tomorrow is a workday. I'll have to sleep fast.
Thank you for reading. Hugs.
What a work day. Busy patients, and my teammate was fantastically awesome managing our assignment. Needless to say, I'm pretty tired tonight.
Tomorrow I see Leah first thing in the morning, so I'll have to set the alarm to make sure I'm awake. And she'll be able to work out the soreness in my mid and lower back.
Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Whew, what a day, working with the best co-workers there are. And by the end of 12 and 1/2 hours, we were all ready to leave.
A quiet night, catching up on a couple phone calls.
Tomorrow is another work day.
I'm tired, and I sure hope I sleep tonight.

Wow. A few more weeks and it will be the solstice again, the longest day of the year. Enjoy the daylight, eh??
I had a good day today. I was able to get out for a run in between the drizzles. Well, kind of. It did start drizzling again while I was out, but I had a rain jacket on just in case.
Breakfast, shower, laundry. Of course, the solar dryer wasn't functioning today, so I used the clothes dryer for the first time. Not before I took the shop vac to it, though.
It started with cleaning the crevices of a couple of nuts (for bolts) and a red piece of plastic that looked like the pop up timer for a turkey. Huh?? The hard plastic mesh that holds the lint screen was almost solid inside with lint. I poked and fished around in that area and got out as much as I could, but there is still a layer that I couldn't reach. I need some kind of long thin adapter to get that stuff. As I was trying to get in there, I ended up removing the lower panel below the door. Ohmygosh, am I glad I did. INCHES of lint. Seriously. The whole floor of the unit was covered, as well as everything else--the wiring, the motor, the burner. And with it being a gas dryer, I was surprised that it hadn't caught on fire yet. When the stuff tried to clog the end of the shop vac hose, I though it might be a mouse nest or something. Instead, I pulled out a wad of scorched, blackened lint. Geesh, those people about burned themselves up. And I'm soooo glad I spent that hour or so cleaning it out.
So, with it reassembled and back in place, that dryer works Awesomely well! (the sellers probably thought it wasn't working very good any more...) And, I found 13 cents!
Ok, laundry dry, I went out to get food. A few groceries, I came back and ate, and cleaned up the kitchen.
Next stop, Holt. Picked up prescriptions, checked the mail (none), and went over to the storage unit for another load. Back home, unloaded, and taken to the basement.
Tomorrow is a workday.
I'm feeling pretty good, overall.
