Another great day!
Very warm sunshine, light breeze, lower humidity.
Roofing team arrived about 0630.
I got out of bed about 0830, even with the construction noise.
After breakfast, went out for errands, which didn't take as long as I thought it might.
Back at home, they were breaking for a late lunch.
Ahh, quiet for a few minutes! Well, other than traffic noise...
I ended up reading most of the afternoon. The porch roof was mostly done, and they were finishing the tedious stuff up there. I sat out there anyway. I completed the chapter I had been working on, read another and completed that. Woo Hoo!! Last chapter, coming up!! Then I'll be doing practice exams and other online learning reinforcements.
The team left after 6, with still the "craft-y" parts left to finish up. Lots of funny angles and roofs up there, with the additions that have been done through the years. (Did I mention this house was built in the early 1900's?) This guy is quite good, and it looks, to me, anyway, like he's doing a great job. They've picked up each night, including using a leaf blower on roofs, the yard, and the driveway.
They'll be back tomorrow to finish.

Another great day!
The roofing team was here 0700. Worked all day, with a lunch break, cleaned up, left about 5. House roof off, paper and shingles on maybe 80% of roof. Tomorrow they'll probably finish the job, including finishing the garage. So far, it's all gone well.
I went out for a run. It was comfortably cool. The sun was quite warm by the time I got back in.
Breakfast, shower, off to a meeting.
Stopped at the store on the way home.
After the crew left, I fixed supper and enjoyed it on the porch.

Another great day!
A good day at the J.O.B. with The Best Co-Workers Ever.
When I got home, there was a utility trailer backed into the driveway. The roofing job for both the house and garage is to start tomorrow, and I wasn't really surprised. The surprise is that the garage roof has already been stripped, repaired, and the paper rolled out!
The homeowner had said the house was going to be started on Wednesday. I hadn't gotten the snowblower, etc, covered in the garage. With trepidation, I opened the garage door.
Hmm. It doesn't look too bad. In fact, it looked pretty good in there. And I could see where a pile of debris had been swept up, under one of the holes in the now repaired roof.
Wow! That was a treat! Of course I'll have to clean the garage, but not as bad as I thought...
Tomorrow is a meeting in the afternoon, and I need groceries.

Another great day!
Worked, busy.
The afternoon girl came in, and it was a good thing she did. That extra person allowed us to do all of the things we're supposed to do, not just the most important ones. Yes, everyone got great care, and always does, regardless of staffing. But it sure is nice to not feel worried and rushed about doing a good job. Three of us worked a little longer in finishing up documentation. Go Team!
Tired tonight.
Tomorrow I get to do it again.

Another great day!
Frank stopped by for some computer stuff, tried to get a printer re-connected for me (after an "update" the printer didn't work). He/we downloaded new drivers, ("unsuccessful install"), he left, and I did a deeper search which showed that "there is no solution for this device". Nice.
One of the things most frustrating for me is computer challenges. So after a couple of hours downloading, updating, and doing further research, I stopped working on it. Ugh.
My friend arrived, and we went to a graduation party for the afternoon. It was nice to visit with everyone.
Earlier this evening, I enjoyed sitting on the front porch. I read some, had a phone call.
A quiet rest of the night.
Tomorrow is a work day.

Another great day!
A bit slow getting out for a run. It was a bit warm, and the shade on the north/south streets was delightful. The neighborhoods around here have mature trees which overhang the streets, and I've found some east/west roads that are shaded, too. So nice.
Breakfast, shower.
I spent the afternoon trimming the shrubs on the side of the house. The debris has to be bagged, so it all had to be cut fairly small. Tedious, but it was leafy shade with an occasional breeze. Really quite enjoyable.
When I finished, I put everything away, washed up, and fixed food. I enjoyed that out on the porch.
Putzed around outdoors a little more, and Frank showed up. That was a nice surprise!
We had a nice visit.
He left, and I had a quiet rest of the night.

We had a good day, steady, just another nurse and myself.

Up and for a run.
Beautiful outdoors--sunny, low 70's when I was out, and lots of birdsong. I'm finding my routes...
Breakfast, shower, and off to the massage.
I had been feeling a little "out of whack" so to speak. She worked on me, and I felt good for a couple of hours. Then very fatigued.
Continuing the water intake (and output), had supper, and a nap.
A quiet rest of the evening.

Sunday 06.19.2016 Father's Day
To all the Men who have nurtured children. Of any age.

I had a great day today.
Started with a run. A hot run. I made it, though, and sucked down the water before and after I went out.
Breakfast, shower.
Went out to clean the boat. Moved the van out of the garage, and found I had a nice work space. Hey! What better way to spend Father's Day than in the garage??
Yup, had a fan on, and the birds were as noisy as the neighbor kids in their new pool. Summer!
Got the winter dust out, (and some leftover grease from the winterizing process--not happy about that...). She is ready for the water.
Came in, showered again, and a quiet rest of the night.

Another great day!
Temps low 70's this morning, high 80's in the afternoon.
A couple of phone calls this morning, then out shopping this afternoon. Got what I needed, and most of the items were on sale. Bonus!
I sifted things around in the garage and basement. The garage roof is scheduled to be redone at the end of the month, and the basement window should be installed any day. I'm waiting to hear. Then I can clean up the messes and finish "settling".
Had supper, cleaned up the kitchen.
Read a bit, a quiet night.

Another great day!
Run in the morning. Was nice--sunshine and bird song. At the end of one of the streets I felt like something was looking at me. It was. A groundhog. He was all puffed up and beady-eyed. I stopped, spoke to it, turned around, and after a few steps, looked back. It was scurrying across the road and into the undergrowth. Whew.
Breakfast, shower.
Potted a couple of plants, read for a while. Finally finished that looong chapter. Did the workbook, reviewed a couple of other chapters. 3 more to go. Then practise exams....
Feeling kind of yucky this evening. Fixed a light bite to eat.
Cleaned the kitchen.

Got home, spent about an hour stretching. I've found some stretches that have "rejuvenated" my lower back. Yay!

Although the phone rang this morning to stay home.
I went back to bed, took a bit to get back to sleep, but was surprised to see it was nearly 0940 when I woke...!!
I spent most of the day reading, getting through most of a very long chapter. Whew.
Took a break to eat and go out for errands. Came back and sat out on the front porch and read (shaded and a little breeze) until that light breeze went away and I went inside.

Another great day!
Went for a run this morning. Finding roads in the residential areas that are low traffic, better roads (lots of potholes/poor repairs around here), and more trees (for shade and bird song). Some blocks have dogs, some have better-kept yards. Today was a more pleasant route.
Breakfast, shower, and errands. Errands took way much longer than anticipated. By the time I got back, I was hungry again.
Prepared food and ate, cleaned up, enjoyed the evening.
A couple of loads of laundry.
Not sure about tomorrow.

Another great day!
Quiet water again, blue sky. 43 degrees again.
The sun warmed quickly, and by 10 am it was comfortable outdoors without a jacket. And by noon it was almost uncomfortable! (almost)
I took my bed apart, commencing the (sad) chore of "breaking camp".
It went pretty good, as I was more than half done with the cleaning that I had wanted to do. I had "scheduled" a paddleboat ride for myself, and at 11:30 I went out.
Beautiful. Light wind fading to a breeze, then blowing again. Nothing I was afraid of in the paddleboat.
Surprised that it was an hour later when I got back inside.
Finished up, loaded, and out the door 2 pm.
A safe drive home, thank you God, arriving about 5:30. 86 degrees outside, 68 degrees in the house. !!!!! This big old house does not have central air. Hmm, what's it like upstairs.....74. A little warm for me to sleep, so I turned on the box and let it work it's magic.
Unloaded, unpacked, supper, cleaned up. Laundry, shower, and ready for bed.
Tomorrow is a work day.

Another great day!
Quiet water, sunshine, temperature went from low 40's this morning to mid 70's this afternoon. Now that's what I'm talking about!!!
I started with a run this morning. The birds were noisy and busy--they are probably happy that the wind has settled down, too.
Breakfast, shower, cleaned the shower. Sat outdoors and just enjoyed the lake for a while.
An errand in town, then back to the lake. Walked down to visit one of my neighbor friends--we had a nice visit.
Back at the cottage, I went down on the dock and put my feet in the water and did some reading. After a bit, I went back in and started vacuuming so that I didn't have to do everything tomorrow.
Fixed supper and ate, vacuumed a little more.
Tomorrow is going home day. *sad face*

Another great day!
Still windy and cold, 43 degrees this morning. The sunshine is welcome.
After breakfast, and waiting for the temperature to rise some, the wind slowed a little, and I went out to finish the mowing.
Which I did.
Put the "decking" down in front of trailer, unlocked, opened the door. It looked good in there--another season survived.
Brought out the hose and electrical cord and the steps and did a walk-through. I'm pleased with how it looked in there. Not many (dead) bugs at all.
I closed it back up, swept the exteriors of both structures.
Got ready and went into town.
Shopping done, I had a snack before going to visit Evelyn.
Just in time to help her move some stuff in her garage. We had a nice visit. I came home for supper.
Prepared food, ate, cleaned kitchen.

Another great day!
Although I was a bit slow, almost sluggish, this morning. I chose to be kind to myself instead of pushing or rushing or trying to hurry to get through the morning, even though I was eager to get on the road.
I got out and got my run in, which was nice. Breakfast, shower, final packing, loading.
Finally underway.
A safe drive, thank you God, with the sky clearing and sun shining through.
Everything was good at The Lake. Windy with white caps and temp high 50's.
Did a walk-around, picked up some debris. Unloaded, settled in, and as I was enjoying supper there was a knock on the door. Evelyn!!!
How nice!! We had a nice visit, and she went on her way.
After she left, I went out and tried the lawn mower. Assuming the gas can had the correct fuel, as it was on top of the mower, I poured some in. Success!!
I got all of the back and the larger side yard done. The gas ran out when the daylight did. I'll finish what I can tomorrow. The bank is out of my comfort zone...

Another great day!
Woke up still drippy this morning. Started with a claritin, then a benadryl. Still a little drippy the first couple of hours at the J.O.B.
I kept at the benadryl, though. Every 3 1/2 hours or so I took another pill. And tonight, I haven't taken any since 4 pm. And NO DRIPPING! I don't know what is triggering it, but it's done tonight. Very strange.
Had a good work day with great co-workers.
Tomorrow I get to do it again, without drips.

Woke up still drippy this morning. Started with a claritin, then a benadryl. Still a little drippy the first couple of hours at the J.O.B.

Saturday 06.04.2016
Another great day!
Started out with a nice run.
After coming in the house the very frequent sneezing and almost constant dripping of the nose started. AGAIN!!!! This is so not ok.
I'm pretty sure it's a histamine response (allergic reaction), but I have absolutely NO CLUE as to what the trigger is. This is the third time I've had this unpleasantness.
Shower, breakfast. Went out for a couple of errands with tissue in hands and pockets.
When I got back, I put dirt in some pots and fooled around outdoors for a bit, nose dripping all the while. Ick.
Thought I'd try a benadryl, not knowing if it would make me sleepy or not.
It did stop the drips, for about 2 hours. Ugh.
The rain started, so I stayed indoors, tissue shoved in the nose holes. Oh, yes, I do shove tissue in the nose holes. Nobody sees me, and those tissues were soaked in about a half hour. No kidding!
With the drips contained, I did my food prep. Cooked, packaged, kitchen cleaned up.
Another benadryl for the night. Sure hope this goes away tonight.

Put my 'jammas back on and went back to bed.
Ended up not being needed, and got a couple of things done.
Frank came over this afternoon and we went out for supper.

Another great day!
Went out for a few groceries. Came back and had breakfast.
Got caught up in a project--finally went outdoors this afternoon.
Used the string trimmer/weed wacker on the cane-like growth beside and behind the garage. Two weeks' growth, these things are fast growers. Some were 3-4 feet, others about a foot. The neighbor had cut them a couple weeks age. It's in my yard, and it's my responsibility to take care of the yard. The joy is opening the housing of the string reel to get more line out. I was able to do it; the string may not be fed correctly.
But it worked. I got it done.
I had to shower. Those plants were juicy. I got splashed on my face, more than once. Ick.
A funeral home visit, then back home for a late supper.
Tomorrow is a work day.
