Tomorrow, gotta play catch up around here.

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Friday 05.29.2015

What a beautiful day today!

Sunshine and blue skies.

Saw a property today--not something I can do right now.  I'll have to keep looking...

Did a couple of errands, called to see if I was needed for the mandatory "extra  hours".

I wasn't.

I did a couple of things around the house.  Enjoyed sitting outdoors listening to the birds and reading.

Fixed supper and ate, cleaned the kitchen.

A quiet night.

Work tomorrow.

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Thursday 05.28.2015

What a great couple of days!

Went to The Lake yesterday--didn't take the computer because there was no internet at Evie's, and I wasn't going to go somewhere to connect.

To my surprise, J&P and T&KS had planned to go, also.  So, I called and turned the phone and internet on at the GC.

But I stayed the night with Evelyn.  She seems to be doing well, after the loss of her husband a few months ago. We had a great visit, and laughed and had fun. And the lake is so beautiful. I just love it there.

This morning we put together "birthday treats" for TG.  She had had the ingredients measured out previously, then changed her mind and made something else, so it was ready to go and easy to put together.  We all went to the Bear's Den for birthday celebration.

I left to go back downstate shortly after.

Beautiful sunshiney day, and I had the top down for the first half of the ride.

I stopped in Flushing on a spur-of-the-moment impulse. A. Lois is back at home and seems to be doing well. Diane is getting fatigued because LoLo is way more physically dependent now than she was, though she is very slowly improving.

Back in the car, I arrived home to find 3 of the 4 baby birds dead in the driveway. Ick. The fourth was in the grass. Eww.  I don't know what attacks them, but they didn't look very mangled or anything. Strange. I saw the parent birds feeding, but didn't see where they flew off to.

Tomorrow I'm going to look at a property, then am scheduled to work in the afternoon (as part of the mandatory "extra" hours). Hope I'm not needed.

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Tuesday 05.26.2015

Another great day at the J.O.B.

Yes, it was busy. Ugh.

But having great co-workers makes all the difference.

Tonight the rain clouds moved through--look west, sunshine, look east, ewww--awful colored sky that poured out rain behind a bright double rainbow that formed a complete arc!

Standing in a light misty rain watching the heavy stuff moving along, and the beautiful colors of the rainbows, was surely a gift of God for us to enjoy.

Tomorrow I'm going north to visit my neighbor, just for an overnight. Looking forward to gazing out over The Lake....

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Monday 05.25.2015 Memorial Day

Ended up going in to work for the second half of the day. It was busy enough that I had a leftover for the next shift.  And I was there with the Best Co-Workers Ever.

Tomorrow I get to do it again.

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Sunday 05.24.2015

Another great day!

The ankle wasn't sore this morning, so I went out for a run. Did pretty good--went about 75% of the way around before walking, and didn't walk very much at that. I'm thinking next time out will be 100%!

I went out this afternoon to do the "drive-by" on a couple of properties. One has potential...

Sat outdoors and did some reading. The birds were very active today. Had to refill the bird bath. And they were ganging up and chasing the chipmunk!  The robins in the bush next to the back door have all four hatched. They are busy back and forth, and seem to be drinking frequently from the bath.

I iced the ankle again tonight, maybe to prevent the soreness?

Scheduled to work tomorrow.

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Saturday 05.23.2015

Had a nice work day today.

Surprised (kinda?) that my ankle is a kind of ouchy sore.

Hmm.  Yes, it's been elevated and iced.

Tired tonight.

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Doing it again tomorrow.

Thursday 05.21.2015

What a great day!

Went over to Frank's house to help him in the yard. We got it done pretty fast, clean up, too.

Back at home, I went out for groceries.

Came back, fixed food and ate, then went out to turn the garage around, putting the snow blower in back of the garage, and the summer things (hose reel, outdoor chairs, etc.) to the front. Brought the plants outdoors from overwintering in the basement, and did a few other things, too.  I crossed off everything on my list!

My ankle feels a little tired tonight, and the tops of the thighs are just a little sore from the run yesterday.

Tomorrow is a workday.

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Wednesday 05.20.2015

I did it!!

Went out for a run again this morning--ran most of the way, with only a few "walks" interspersed.  No pain in the ankle/foot.  Woo Hoo!!

Went to Leah's for a massage.  She was impressed with the ankle/foot, too.  She did find some sore areas on the outer side of the ankle and a little bit of fluid accumulation, none of which are new. It is healing, very slowly. But healing.

Had a quiet rest of the afternoon/evening.

Tomorrow I hope to get the winter swept out of the garage.

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Tuesday 05.19.2015

Had a great day today.

Back to work, and I had an Orientee. We were busy; she had her eyes open, taking it all in.  Kind of fun--the second half of the day she was trying to keep up with me.

We didn't get an afternoon break, though, and I had a light supper when I got home.

Tomorrow is a massage.  Finally.

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Monday 05.18.2015

What a great day today!

Sunny and warm and humid. Fortunately the air conditioning made the house more comfortable. Although when it's consistently hot, the house is more difficult to keep temperate. But right now it's good...

Went out this morning with the intention of running.  Did pretty good--with the alternating walking and running, I ran maybe almost half of the route?  And I know it's over 2 miles, but don't know accurately.  The ankle was good, no discomfort. Yay!  The rest of the body seems ok tonight, too.

Frank stopped by for a visit, he left for work and I went out for errands.

Fixed supper and ate, went out and vacuumed the car.

Had a quiet night.

Tomorrow it's back to the J.O.B.

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Saturday 05.17.2015

Ahhh, home.

Daddy, Matilda, and I went over to the playground this morning. It had rained during the night, and was still overcast and breezy. We had fun anyway, though she preferred her daddy to push her on the swings and such.

Back at the house, I got my things loaded up in the car. When M saw I was leaving, by myself, she gave me hugs and snuggles. Sure do love that little girl.

A safe drive home, thank you God, with just a light sprinkle as I was nearing Jackson.

I caught up on chores, filled the birdbath, made hummingbird food, cleaned and refilled that feeder.  The bush next to the back door has a robin's nest in it again, and there are 4 eggs in it! Hope they are successful!

A quiet rest of the night.

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Saturday 05.16.2015

Another awesome day!

This morning as I was getting Matilda up from her bed, she looks past me and breaks into a huge grin--Mommy and Daddy were home!!

They got in about 0400.  Just a bit of a nap after a week of motorcycle riding.

We had a great day, the 3 of us adults getting mom and dad situated. We all went over to pick up their belongings from the camper, as well as the bike. (It was storming here last night. The camper is a "toy hauler" that has room for motorcycles and such in the back, and a travel trailer set up in the front, complete with slide-outs. Sleeps 8!!)  Jeremy rode the bike back home, while Jenny, Matilda and I went for groceries.

We put together a wonderful meal for supper tonight, celebrating Jeremy's birthday as well as their marriage.

Of course, Matilda had some "transitional behaviors"  that we all tried to help her with. Looking back, I think we did a good job.

Tomorrow I'll be heading back north.

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Friday 05.15.2015

Another great day!

Cool and gloomy this morning.

Matilda and I made apple pancakes for breakfast.

We were finally finished, I cleaned up the kitchen, and gathered our things to get loaded into the car.

A safe drive, thank you God, to Indianapolis.  Both Matilda and Lola the dog are wonderful travelers. No one (even me!!!)  needed to stop for a "rest".  Yes, it was a long sit, but we made it.

And it was 87 degrees and humid here.  Thankful for air conditioning.

Tomorrow the parents return.

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Thursday 05.14.2015

Another great day today!

Matilda and I went to Montrose to visit (her great great) Aunt Lois and cousin Diane.

We stayed a couple of hours, and on the way out of town we stopped at the Montrose Township Barber Memorial Park. The sun was out and had warmed to the mid-60's. It's a fairly new park with awesome playground equipment for smaller people.  Matilda had a blast climbing on all the stuff, and swinging, too.

Tomorrow we'll head back to Indianapolis.

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Wednesday 05.13.2015

Whoa--cold and windy today.

51 degrees.

Frank came over, and we took Matilda and Lola the Dog over to the park. Really happy that Frank came with us--he took Lola the entire visit and walked her around and let her sniff and do what dogs do.  I helped M on the swings and climbing apparatus. It was good to get out in the fresh air and run and play.

She never did nap this afternoon, to my surprise. And we had a good supper and a good bath time and a good bed time.

Tonight is a frost warning.  Ugh.

Tomorrow I'd like to go to Montrose and visit A. Lois. I hope Matilda is up for it.

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Tuesday 05.12.2015

Had a great day today!!

Temperatures drastically different--low 50's and windy.

Packed and loaded with a 2 1/2 year old and a mid-sized dog--both seasoned travelers-and on the road by 11:30.

A safe drive, thank you God, the dog didn't bolt when the door was opened (yes, she's a pretty good dog), and we arrived home around 4.

The challenge was getting unpacked and dinner prepared.

Matilda helped me make chicken nuggets-pounding the meat, crushing the crackers, and watching the breading process. The most surprising thing to me was that she ate almost all the mashed potatoes that we made!

We went out for a walk after supper, which we all needed, and watched videos until bedtime.

She's doing well being away from the parents so far. I expect that any time it could change. The change of scenery will prolong it, I hope.

Tomorrow I think we'll go out in search of a playground. There are several around here.

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Monday 05.11.2015 Wedding Day!!

It was a fine day in Indianapolis today, though there was severe weather all around us. All the way to Michigan.  Which is why I chose to NOT travel today.

We got a few light sprinkles several times throughout the day, with occasional gusty spells. But nothing that got the pavement wet.

We played outdoors, indoors, outdoors, etc.

And we got a picture...

Jeremy and Jenny Putnam   05.11.2015

They were married this afternoon on the beach.  How Fun!

We were able to Skype after a bit.  Matilda didn't like the call ending.

Tomorrow will be our travel day.  I'm hoping it goes well....

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Sunday 05.1.2015

Another great day!!

This afternoon we went over to a park with play structures.  So fun to watch her learning to climb as her body grows. She eagerly climbed onto/into a structure, got "stuck"  (didn't know how/where to go next), I helped her get figure it out, and next time she was shy to go past the second rung.  She did, though, with encouragement. And the third time it was almost as though her legs had grown in the interval and she wasn't quite familiar with them.

A good supper, bath, and bedtime.

Tomorrow I'm coming home for a couple of days. It will be a little different traveling with a 2 1/2 year old and a dog...(both travel well).

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Saturday 05.09.2015

Another great day in Indy....

Mid 80's, humid.  A couple of thunder showers in the afternoon, long enough in between that the pavement had dried up.

We had a quieter day, listening to music, playing with toys, reading. Outdoors for a walk.  Mixing up and baking "cookies".  More like an energy bar--mashed bananas, oats, nuts, dried fruits, with an egg and a little flour as binders.

Maybe we'll wander out to find a playground tomorrow.

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Friday 05.08.015

A great day today!

J&J took Matilda over to day care early this morning before leaving on their trip.

I woke with the "uh, oh, sinus pressure/migraine"  thing going on.  It finally released about noon without medication, thank you God.

I try to help them with household projects when I can--you know, the ones that take more time than you have available when working full time and taking care of each other??  They said there were "sugar ants"  in the kitchen.  So I fixed some lightly soapy bleach water and cleaned thoroughly. Surprising how much stuff accumulated in just 6 months.

I went over to pick up Matilda. It was high 80's and humid, so I had the top down and the a/c on in the car. Matilda wasn't so sure about the wind--but it's less than 2 miles away, and maximum speed is 35. I'm waiting for her to say something about it.

Now, that's a Grandma car!!!

We had a great afternoon/evening and bedtime.

Tomorrow we can play all day....

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Thursday 05.07.2015

What a great day today!

Left Jackson before noon, made it to Indianapolis without incident (thank you God) before 4pm.  Temperature when I arrived showed 91 on my car.

It's great to be here.

J & J will take M to day care and continue on their way; I'll pick her up in the afternoon.

So far, so good.

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Wednesday 05.06.2015

Cool and rainy this morning, turned into a sunny, humid afternoon.

Got chores done, went out for errands.  Top down.

Fixed supper and ate.

Pretty much packed to leave tomorrow.

The hummer on the feeder looked quite dark, with not much length on the tail.  So far, it's the only bird I've seen on the feeder.

Hoping for a "good weather" drive tomorrow.

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Tuesday 05.05.2015

Another great day at the J.O.B.

And it was my turn to leave early.

And I don't go back for a couple of weeks!

I'll be going to Indianapolis while Jeremy and Jenny go on a motorcycle trip.  I may bring Matilda back to Michigan for a few days.

Tomorrow is errands.

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Worked today,

A good day with a great group of co-workers.

Tomorrow we get to do it again.

Saw the first hummingbird on the feeder tonight!!

Sunday 05.03.2015

Oh, My, what a Glorious Day!!

As I was walking around the house doing chores and such, I enjoyed the busy birds in the birdbath.  So much splashing going on that I needed to refill it!!

The robins are taking their nesting material to the shrub next to my back door again.  Last year, they somehow lost their eggs (in the afternoon--I saw them in the morning, and when I was showing Frank the nest, it was empty, with no sign of shells anywhere....). They rebuilt in a second location, brooded the eggs, and those disappeared, too.  Earlier this spring, I finally found about 3 large nests in the lilac hedge between the driveways, I'm guessing from the robins, cardinals, and bluejays that I saw going back and forth.

Tonight the peepers are noisy as can be.

I got a lot of my chores done, and went out for a "power walk".  I even ran a little.  *smile*   All the parts felt good, and even my ankle is it's normal, slightly uncomfortable self.  Yippee!!

I successfully electronically transferred data to my new-to-me phone. The 5 year old Droid X is timing out--meaning that there were apps that I used that were no longer being supported on that device. It was freezing up at intervals, and sometimes slow to load.  So, when I researched and decided upon a Samsung Galaxy S4, I went to the Verizon store to see about getting one.

Well, that was an hour of a salesperson trying to sell me a different device. And she could order the S4 for  $550 DOLLARS!!!  WHAT!!!  Um, No.   I watched the prices on eBay for a week or so, found the average price is $200, and bought one for $175+5.95 shipping.  Uh Huh. With a decent case and a screen protector, and both the sim card and sd card.  It was in my mailbox 3 days later.

I've played with it a little for the few days that I've had it, and read online about it, and was able to activate it today.  By myself.

I have to acknowledge that when the service changed over to the new phone, and the Droid lost it's connection, I felt a little, sad.

Tomorrow is a workday.

Hope everyone enjoyed the fabulous sunshine these last few days.

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Saturday 05.02.2015

Wow,  What a great day today!

Sunshine, blue sky mid 70's.

Went out for errands, with the top down!!!!

Oh, Yeah, it was sooo nice.

I took a little time and sat out in the yard, listening to the birds.

Last night, there was a comcast box on the back porch.

Hmm.

I called this morning--it's a new modem, because they are "upgrading equipment".

I know what that means--the potential for a challenge in getting the thing to work, in less than an hour.

I finally got bold enough to change it out about 7pm.  11:30 pm--3 hours on the phone, the original modem reconnected, a replacement for the (non) upgraded equipment ordered.  Ugh.

Seems the "upgraded" modem was faulty. I was transferred to, and spoke with, 3 different people.

That was a yucky evening.

Tomorrow is predicted to be high 70's. Woo Hoo!!!

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Friday 05.04.2015

Worked today.

Opened the "overflow" unit.

Had a good start to the day, flowing right along.

Then came the afternoon.

Felt like we were the washcloths, being wrung out.

Yes, we got through it.

Tomorrow is chores.

Thank you for reading. Hugs.
