Thursday 07.31.2014

Had a great day today!

Slept (at intervals), always surprised that the last morning shut-eye turns into an hour and a half!

Woke to the sound of a lawn trimmer.  I got up, and noticed that the lawn guy was here. Good. Get that job out of the way...

I ended up doing 4 loads of laundry, utilizing the solar dryer (love the smell of sun-dried fabric). I cooked 6 pounds of pasta for a fund raiser for one of my co-workers. My schedule conflicted with the Spaghetti Dinner that's being held, so I offered to do some food prep. I'll be able to help a little with the set-up Sunday morning before I go out of town.

Frank came over for a few minutes before work.

My chores are done and I'm ready for work again in the morning.

My ankle is a little sore today, probably from Leah doing what she does. A couple of other areas are a little sore, too.  I tell you, it was a much needed massage.

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Wednesday 07.30.2014

Worked my mandatory extra hours today, 0630-12 noon.  Visited for a few minutes with one of the girls who had come in to visit; she seems to be doing as well as can be expected and hopes to be able to come back to work in a week or so.

Stopped at home, changed clothes, regrouped, went to Leah's for a much needed massage. Geesh, I was a mess!  She worked my ankle, too, and thought it was doing well. It's sore tonight from being bothered.

Back to the hospital for a meeting. Productive, went over by a half hour. I was getting hungry...

Fixed supper and ate, and am having a hard time keeping my eyes open.

Sure hope they stay shut during the night.

Tomorrow I'm doing food prep for a fund raiser.

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Tuesday 07.29.2014

Ugh.  Back to work.

Busy.  Stepped right back into the team and carried on.  Sure didn't seem like I'd been gone the last couple of weeks. And, I'll say that after a few hours, I'm tired of hearing the call lights.

I  was able to do what I do best--facilitate the mom and baby to be a "nursing couplet".  So cool when mom, dad, and baby get the whole process.

Stopped for a few groceries on the way home.

I'm really tired tonight.

Didn't wear any wrap on my ankle today, and only took one tylenol this afternoon!  I'm amazed, and extremely happy to find that it is getting better!

May have to work in the morning. A phone call when the alarm comes on will be when I know.  It's only part of a day, and I have a massage in the afternoon, with a meeting to follow.

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Monday 07.28.2014

Woke to another windy morning, temp maybe 60??  And overcast. Certainly not conducive to boating.

Which was kind of a good thing.

I got packed up to leave, had breakfast, and cleaned up/packed up the kitchen things I had brought. Then I went over to the cottage.

I offered to take who ever might want to go out for a ride--tube or boat, whichever. No takers.

T & KS stopped over.  We visited a short bit and they left.

I finished up the trailer, loaded the van, and was able to leave a little after 1.

I stopped at the Care Home to see U. Carl. He was much better today. He laughed and joked at me a little, and then he decided it was time for his afternoon nap.  That worked well. I took him back to his room and waited for "the girls" to come and tend to him.  I thought it was a good visit.

An uneventful ride home, thank you God, and I arrived about 5:30.

Unloaded, mostly unpacked. Fixed something to eat, cleaned the kitchen, enjoyed a shower, and got turned around to go to work in the morning.

I guess that means that vacation is officially over.

*sigh*

But it was a good one.

Thanks again to all who shared it with me.

And thank you for reading. Hugs.

Sunday 07.27.2014

Another great day today!!!

The morning half of the day I got the back end of the trailer cleaned, as tomorrow is my last day here.  *sad face*

I checked the weather radar, and it showed thunderstorms heading our way; I guessed we had about 2 hours to play on the water.

And we did.

Cari and Heaven rode the tube, then Heaven went by herself. Jacob rode the tube, then took a ride on the skis. The water was a lot more choppy today with the wind, and other boats were out, too.  Jim had a good sail, and we all came in when the skies were darkening with rumbles of thunder in the distance.

I covered the boat, it rained a little while later, and has been raining since.

T & KS and I went to supper; the folks at the GC enjoyed a fish fry with fresh caught lake fish.

Chelsea and Lexi arrived about 10 pm.

Tomorrow I'll finish packing and cleaning, enjoy the boat for a couple hours, and I have to leave.  I've had a great couple weeks here. Thanks to all who have shared this time with me.

And thank you for reading. Hugs.

Saturday 07.26.2014

I heard something when I woke this morning.

Huh.  It's raining.  Ugh.  That changes things....

I got up after a bit, showered. And after breakfast, washed my hair.  You may be thinking, "why....?"   Because I'm in this (travel) trailer with a 3 gallon water heater. If I wash my hair, I don't have enough water to finish the body.  So I've figured out a couple ways to get the hygiene accomplished, and this is one of them.

Rain dripped a while longer, but by 12:30 was getting brighter with patches of blue sky showing through.  1:30 I uncovered the boat, and we had a GREAT afternoon!!!

Jacob tubed and Got Up On Water skis!! And went for a ride!!!  Very Awesome, Jake!

Cari and Princess Heaven rode on the tube--Grins and giggles we could hear all the way back to the boat!!

Excellent still photos by Aaron, and videography by Pauline. Wow, did we have fun!!

Supper, fishing, enjoying the evening. Early bedtime for a few of those folks....

Tomorrow I'll get the basics of my things ready to go home on Monday.  I have to be to work Tuesday.  Not looking forward to the J.O.B., though I'm thankful and appreciative.

And I thank you for reading. Hugs.

Friday 07.25.2014 My Birthday, #59

Late 50's, almost 60--  I turned 59 today.

Happy to be alive and well and cancer free!

A beautiful sunshiney day with a couple brothers and a sister-in-law to share it with. We enjoyed visiting, and a slow boat ride around the lake.  Thanks for coming over, B!

J, P, and I went out for supper. When we were done eating, Jim stands up and announces to the full restaurant that it's my birthday, and leads them in singing Happy Birthday!!  Lots of smiles, and I tried to be gracious; oh my, did my face feel red!!  Such fun!!

Back at the lake, they went out fishing and I went to visit my "old" neighbors. When I got back to the GC, Cari and crew had arrived. Yay!!

A quiet rest of the night.

Tomorrow we hope the rain holds off so we can play in the boat.

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Thursday 07.24.2014

What a beautiful day it turned out to be!!

The sky was clear this morning, the wind was less, and as the day went on, the temperature was warmer and the lake quieter.

Polly and I went out in the paddle boat for a ride. Ended up going all the way to the Bar and back!!  (no, we didn't go in the bar...)  It was a long ride, but the day was perfect. When we got back around, Jim was out on the sailboat!!  Absolutely Beautiful!!

We decided that this is what it is really all about....

Thank you, Polly, for a most enjoyable afternoon!

I do have to say that my ankle was uncomfortable when I got back. Motrin and tylenol helped, and tonight it feels much better.

A quiet rest of the afternoon/evening.

Tomorrow brother B is coming over for a visit. Seems that it's my birthday.  Ha!!  59 !!!  Hooo Weeee--I'm getting scary old......by the numbers, anyway!!

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Wednesday 07.23.2014

Another Summer Day... that was cool, windy, long pants, and where did my sweatshirt go??

After a windy night filled with flashing lightening, occasional thunder, and a few rain showers, the day finally settled down in the evening. Still a bit breezy, but no white caps on the lake tonight. And when the sun came through, it was welcomingly warm.

A beautiful scenic drive to A. Donna's and back for a genealogy visit. I knew she had some information and a collection of items, but not THAT much!!!  Whoa!!  She's got documented information going back to early 1800's and maybe 1700's if I recall that correctly. Wow.

Back at the lake, we were surprised to find survey stakes from the new neighbors. An interesting revelation, if it's accurate.

Supper, and a quiet evening.

Hoping for a warmer day tomorrow.

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Tuesday 07.22.2014

Another Great Day!!

0800--the sound of  pick up trucks, more than one (three, actually), very near by.

Truck doors opening/closing, male voices.   Hmm.  Better look.

Oh!  It's the Roofing Crew!!

I see they've backed the trailer and truck alongside the cottage as Tom had directed me to direct them; I don't see a dumpster yet. Guess I'd better get dressed and get out there.

They are already busy unloading tools, materials, etc.. I introduce myself, and ask if a dumpster is coming. Nope, they'll load all debris into this here trailer.   Ok.  And by the time that conversation was over, there were already tarps on the ground around the perimeter of the cottage, and a couple guys on the roof popping up the old shingles!!

It was a hot day, and the crew of 5 moved right along. By 3 pm the job was done, picked up, cleaned up, packed up, and they headed out.  Wow!

I had a phone meeting this morning from 9-11, and their "activity" altered the logistics of "where can I go that I can hear, and that there's not much background noise?"  I tried a couple different areas, and ended up sitting in the van for an hour and a half or so, and then the sun moved around. Couldn't stay there....

Found a shaded spot a couple doors down on their porch; (they weren't around) and finished the meeting. I finally had breakfast (had intended to do that shortly after the meeting started but couldn't) and went into town for a few groceries.

It sure was hot in town.

And it was hot back at the lake.

I walked around the job as they were finishing up, asked a couple questions, the Boss saw what I did, and got it corrected.  (go me!)

Not much after they left did J & P arrive.  It was good to see them.

We visited a bit before they went out to celebrate their 47th wedding anniversary.  Yikes!  Congrats!!!

I had my supper and enjoyed the quiet.

The evening is trying to blow in a storm.  We'll see what happens.

Tomorrow I've been invited to go with J&P to A. Donna's for the afternoon. Might be a nice trip.

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Monday 07.21.2014

Wow. Can it get any better than this??

Well, yes. Someone to share it with (J & P will be here tomorrow). Creature Features like....air conditioning would really be nice.   Overall, it's the Best Place In The World.

I painted the back bumper on the trailer today. Got a second coat on a couple hours before sunset. Looks pretty good.

I enjoyed sitting on the dock, sitting on the swing, and a couple of walks.

Watching the lake, listening to the loons and the seagulls, reading.

Tomorrow is a morning meeting (by phone), and a trip into town for a few groceries.

Truly Blessed.

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Sunday 07.20.2014

Another great day!!

Tom and Frank went over to Tawas this morning and got the part for Amber's van. Installed it and Wa La!!
Fixed!!  To The Most Awesome Dad Ever!!

Amber took a break from packing and cleaning, and we went out in the boat. Frank water skied, then rode the tube. No one else wanted to ride, and we put the boat away.

Amber and girls left, Tom left, and a while later Frank left.

Whew.

A quiet night.

Tomorrow I'll paint what Frank wire brushed today.

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Saturday 07.19.2014

A very nice party put together by Diane the Incredible. Thanks, Di, for the humongous amount of time, energy, and love you put into this event!  A good time was had by All!!!

A safe drive there and back, thank you God, in a beautiful blue sky day.  Some cloud cover this afternoon, and that kept it from getting so stinkin' hot.

Frank and I took the Birthday Girl home, and heard a bit of Ancestry. I may not recall/remember all I heard; I like hearing about my fore-peeps anyway.

Back at The Lake, a lot has happened. Amber's vehicle tried to fail her again; she got back to the GC and called Dad, who so generously came to her rescue. The problem is still not resolved. Hopefully tomorrow.

The All Inn next door to us has started it's remodel job. A good portion of the back porch had been removed, with a large fire ring in the back yard and a fire burning. I like that as the guy was disassembling, he has neatly arranged the debris.  Like maybe he's going to repurpose the windows and the salvaged wood?? Of course there's just so much that is not use-able.

Tom spent some time on the internet looking for auto part places in the north woods that are open on Sunday. May have to drive a bit to find what he needs.

Tomorrow he'll be taking care of that, Amber will be getting the cottage and herself ready to leave, Frank will probably wire brush the back bumper of the trailer so I can paint it, and I'll try to occupy the littles while the others are doing what they need to do. Woo Hoo!!!

Please Pray for Positive Outcomes!

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Friday 07.19.2014

Woo Hoo!!!

Another Great Day!!

Good weather, good family, good food.

Played in the boat, played in the water, sat in the sun, sat in the shade. Visited, played catch with the kids, sat around the fire.

Ahhhh.  Summer Vacations in Michigan are the Best!

Tomorrow a road trip for a Birthday Party.

Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Thursday 07.17.2014

Woo Hoo!!

Great day today!!

Of course it was cool this morning. We breakfasted, and went for groceries as a group.  I forgot how it is to have a "herd"  *laughing* .  We did what we needed to do, though, and got back to the lake.

Lunch, and I got the boat uncovered, inflated the new tube (towable) and we all we out to play.

Tubing, water skiing, learning to ski (tomorrow will be success), and young 'ens brave enough to ride the tube with mom, and grin the whole time, even after they fell off. The other one wasn't ready to ride yet. She did a good job being the Pretty Girl on the Boat, because every boat needs a Pretty Girl....

Whew. That was a lot of sun.

The two little fishes continued to play in the water while I watched and the other two went in and got supper ready.  That worked out well!!

Supper cleaned up, fishes back in the water.

A paddle boat ride for the littles.  Amber built a lovely one-match fire, and we enjoyed watching it get dark while the 'mallows roasted.

All that fun--I had to wash the sunscreen off and thank God for the great day.

More fun tomorrow!!

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Wednesday 07.16.2014

Another great day!!

Cool, windy. Then the wind would die down, clouds moved out, and it promised to be warm. What a teaser!  Dark clouds blew through again, and so on throughout the day.

I got all the boats bailed out--it was a lot of water with all the rain we've had.

Frank arrived about 6:30. He looked so good, and is so happy to be here.

I made a batch of cookies for the next-comers, who ended up being a couple hours later due to vehicular problems. But thanks to TWG, The Wonder Guy, the vehicle was repaired and Amber and her girls arrived safely.

We helped them unload and get settled in, then turned in ourselves.

Predicted to be "cold" tonight--high 40's. Then warming again.

Bring it on.

And my ankle is finally feeling like it's going to be ok.

Thank you God.

And thank you for reading.

Hugs.

Tuesday 07.15.2014

Had a great day today.

Rained all night and most of the day.  Sometimes heavy.  And the bucket got wet. You know, the bucket under the roof leak?  Yup. It's coming through the ceiling.

So glad the job is contracted to be done soon.

I went out this afternoon to visit U. Carl at The Home.  He was sleeping, but roused a little when the Aide was talking to me.  I leaned over and spoke to him. He smiled when I told him my name. He didn't stay awake long.

I went on my way, stopping at a few stores in Rose City. Found a couple things I had been looking for, and didn't find a couple things.

The rain clouds were moving out, turning into intermittent showers. I had supper over in the Palace (cottage) and took care of the water in the bucket.

A quiet evening.  Other than the loons. They sure have been noisy when the rain stops.

I'm looking forward to family coming tomorrow. It's predicted to be cool, but dry. And Thursday will be warmer.

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Monday 07.14.2014

Another Beautiful Day at The Lake!!!

Doesn't get much better than quiet water, blue skies, comfortable temperatures, and someone to share it with.

Thanks much to Tom and KS for helping get the boat in, and the moorings adjusted. Sure looks good to see the boat floating at the end of the dock!

They left about 5:30. I had a quiet evening watching the lake and all the birds. They sure were busy today!

A few splats of lightening, some thunder rumbles, and some rain tonight.

Tomorrow I'd like to visit U. Carl, and I've got a little shopping to do.

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Sunday July 13, 2014

Another great day!!

Surprised that it was after 0930 when I woke (well, not really. I didn't settle down to sleep until after 2...) I got up and was getting breakfast together when I checked my phone.

Oooo, Skype with Jeremy and Matilda text!!  I asked if they were still available, and he replied yes. We had a wonderful cyber visit.

I fixed breakfast and ate, and I was putzing around outdoors when T & KS arrived. Yay!!

We had a great afternoon/evening. Tom helped me get the big boat in the water and moorings secured. Looks so good to see the boat in the water....

A quiet evening.

It's cooled off from the breezy low 80's that it was today, to low 60's and quiet tonight.

And I've been called to see if I was available to work tomorrow.

Umm,  No.

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Saturday 07.12.2014

It was a fabulous day today!!

Considering all the pieces that came together.  Frank and his friend Brian at the Midas shop; parts that were ordered at 0200 being delivered by 1000 today; brake job completed, and cost effective, too!

Boat:  Cover done. When I picked up the boat, the cover is beautiful--form-fitting, and designed to go on "front to back".  The way my boat is at the dock, I need to put the cover on "back to front". I had mentioned this when we talked, but she missed it. Apologizing profusely, she offered to modify it. While she was doing that, her husband aired up the tires on the trailer, then checked out the wiring for the lights AND GOT THEM WORKING!!!  He actually took a bulb from his trailer for me.  God has put great people in my world, and I am thankful for each and every one of them.

And while those two were doing their projects, I checked the battery. The charge didn't hold. I called Frank and asked if he could pick up a new battery and bring it over. Sure--all three pieces--cover modification, trailer improvements, and battery--came together about the same time.  We "settled up" and I was on my way back to the house.

Frank had helped me load the van before going to get the boat, so all I needed to do was put the life jackets and some other things back into the boat. And pack the cooler.

I realized that I needed to eat. So I rummaged around in the freezer and put together yummy food (I love having my homemade portions in the freezer!), ate, and finally got on the road. Way a lot later than I had intended, but everything worked out well and that's how long it took.

A safe drive north, with occasional drizzles and drops, then a good downpour near Saginaw.  It stopped (mostly) when I stopped for fuel and groceries in Bay City. The remainder of the drive was light rain and drizzle, and tree drips to unload the vehicle.

An hour later it's raining pretty good. I've unpacked and unwound.  Temperature is holding about 70 degrees.

It's a great place to be, this family place we have. I feel very fortunate and blessed to be able to be here. And looking forward to the various family members that will be coming and going while I'm here.

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Friday 07.11.2014

Another great day!!

Got the floors vacuumed and started pulling stuff out to pack. Looks like I've got what I want.

Frank came over and reminded me that the Twister inflatable tube wasn't holding air. And I think that leaves a pull behind tube.  Which means I don't need the large tote, and that's ok!!

I found the package of new water ski boots to replace the torn one. Hope everything else is good--the boat wasn't in the water last year, and I'm a bit blurry on what's what and what isn't.

I took the van for an oil change, and when I got back, Frank checked the brakes. He had worked on them with his person at the shop, and there was a question about one of them. He wasn't happy with how hot it was. He made a phone call, and he is taking it in tonight and going back in the morning to work on it. The boat cover will be done and ready to pick up about noon.  Hoping all goes well with the brakes and the times coordinate.

Being patient; hard to do and be eager to leave at the same time...

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Thursday 07.10.2014

Great day today!!

Got the back room washed--walls, window casings, doors, floor, etc., to remove the drywall dust. I was surprised at how dirty the water was....

Frank came over before going to work, and we brought up the big stuff.  I have to say it was odd trying to carry more weight with this gimpy ankle, and I got winded coming up the stairs. After several trips up and down the stairs, it was time for a break.

I've got it mostly done.  So nice to get the coat rack out of the living room.  *smile*

I also did a load of laundry, and started pulling things out for my time at The Lake.  Looks like I'll be needing long pants and jackets, too, as well as socks and shoes. I think that's better than 95 degrees and 95% humidity, and no air conditioning....

Boat cover is expected to be done late tomorrow.  Woo Hoo!!!

Probably traveling Saturday, but not definite.

Resting the ankle at intervals. It's better every day.

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Wednesday 07.09.2014

It's a great day.

The scheduler returned my phone call this morning, verified that I was "on vacation" as of last night 1900.  Whew!!!

Shower, breakfast. Got the boat hooked up and took it over to the Boat Cover Lady, (Heidi Patterson, Sew It All owner).  She hopes to have it back to me earlier than Saturday.  All Righty Then!!

Got back home, had a snack, went to the dental office. I was an hour early. Better than an hour late.... I went over to the park, put the top down, the seat back, and listened to my current audiobook.

Dental cleaning was good; doctor thinks it's time to address a spot that they have been "watching" the last couple years.  Shooooot.

Appointments made, stopped at a store to find the kind of elastic bandage that I wanted for my ankle. The one I have is wearing out, and the other one is usable, but it doesn't support the same. I did find one, and it was on sale. Bonus!

Back at home, I rummaged around for whatever it was that I was going to fix for supper. I found something, put it together, and ate.

A delightful phone call, and a quiet evening.

Tomorrow I'll get that back room cleaned.

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Tuesday 07.08.2014 Vacation....???

Well, supposedly.

After many conversations with my scheduler, and my wonderful co-workers, I have a vacation. Mostly. Except for the first 2 work days, which turn into the first 6 days of my time off.  I'm hoping to rectify that "little snafu"  tomorrow.   Ugh.

The good news is that the boat is going over to the Sewing Lady to get a new cover made. And I'm hoping it will be finished by Saturday.  Unrealistic???   Maybe.....

Though busy at the j.o.b., it was a much better day than the many days previous. I did offer to go in and help from 8-noon tomorrow. Someone will call in the morning.

The other good news is that the back room is finally reconstructed!!  Now to wash the drywall dust off the walls, window sills, casings, and doors, clean all the window glass, wash the floor, and put it back together. So glad to have that space back.

Tomorrow, maybe I'll work; I'll take the boat over, and have a dental cleaning in the afternoon. Oh yeah, and clean the back room.

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Monday 07.07.2014

Lucky 7 Day.

Busy again, with the best co-workers ever.

A gift in itself.

Tomorrow I get to do it again.

My ankle is "holding up";  I still wrap it for a day's work, and ibuprofen at least once a day while I'm busy. Sometimes twice. Sometimes ice in the evening, or when it feels like it needs chillin'.

I think it must be getting better, as I forget to "guard" it sometimes, and either step or turn or bend it in such a way as it makes me go "ow".  It's not quite healed.

One day at a time.

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Sunday 07.06.2014

Another great day!!

When I called this morning to find out if I was needed, I was told to "stay home".  Yay!!

Dozed off another couple times, getting up around 8:30.

A slow morning. My ankle is a bit sore.

Breakfast, shower. A lot of computer time.

Had to get outside--went out for groceries.

Frank stopped by for a bit.

He left, I went back to the computer searches.

Having had enough of that, with a bit of eyestrain headache, I went out to finish getting the van ready for vacation (when it gets approved).  Glued the mirrored piece back on the exterior side mirror, went to the fillin' station and filled up the tank, as well as aired up the tires. Probably need an oil change, too.

Back at home, fixed supper, cleaned the kitchen, and enjoyed a phone conversation that was filled with good news.

Tomorrow is a work day.

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Saturday 07.05.2014

I looked over at the clock at 0901 this morning.  I love when feel like I've had restful sleep.

I got up and wandered around. Just as I was going to start breakfast, the phone rang, and was told I'd be needed this afternoon.  *sigh*   ok.

I know it's been super busy, and late afternoon we all look for something to eat. So I thought I'd take something in.  Hmm. I rummaged around looking for inspiration and ingredients, checked for recipes on the internet, and decided on Blonde Brownies.  Got them mixed up and put in the oven. All indicators pointed to something good.

The pan was out of the oven about 20 minutes before I left, and I cut them while still soft. I carried it in a fabric bag because it was still too hot for anything else. When I got there I was able to touch it and put it on the table in the break room. Still pretty warm, when I went back in the room about 5 minutes later, there were sounds of  "mmmm" and  "where did these come from"  and  "oh, they're still warm...".   Oh, yeah, they were really good, and a good choice for the Best Co-Workers Ever.  Happy I could do it.

The 4 hours was busy, though a little slower than the previous 2 days I've worked. Geesh.

And I signed up for tomorrow morning, just for 4 hours.  Hope I'm not needed....

Hope everyone has had a great weekend.

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Friday 07.04.2014

Still busy at the J.O.B.

Amazing team work with the Best Co-Workers Ever.

Exhale.

Tomorrow I picked up 3-7 pm.  Hope I'm not needed....

Iced the ankle both last night and tonight. I do think it's getting better.

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Wednesday 07.02.2014

Another great day!!

Phone interview was interesting. And stopped abruptly when she said what the salary is.  Can't take a lower number with a higher cost of living.  *sigh*

As I reflected after the call was over, I realized I was disappointed.

And I know that God has a plan.

I went out and wiped off the winter dust from the boat. The new cover will be created soon.

Did some food prep for potluck tomorrow before going to a late afternoon meeting.

A quiet evening, with lower temperatures. Finally!

Tomorrow is a workday.

Another great day!!

Slept pretty good again and actually feel better today!! Thank you God!!

My throat feels better, and my ankle is MUCH better. Finally.

I decided to go for a bike ride. Strapped on the helmet, and took off.  Not that I can pedal "hard"--don't want to put that much stress/force on that ankle. Just an easy ride. I started off going over to Frank's. His roomie John (you remember the motorcycle accident about 6 years ago?) was home. He's looking good; he was telling me that he saw his orthopedic surgeon last week for some odd stuff that's happening with the hardware in his leg. Seems the bone may be rejecting the metals, and they are considering yet another surgery.  It's been a long road for him.

Frank and I visited for a while before he had to leave for work. I went on my way.

My ankle was feeling pretty good, and I decided to go a little further. I was over in the area that I used to walk, and I knew it was mostly flat. I ended up over at the DNR boat launch and watched the whitecaps and the swans on the lake for a while. Yup, I love being at the lake. It's my peaceful place.

An easy ride back home, and it was time for something to eat. I had a snack, and got stuff out for supper, which turned out amazingly good.

A quiet evening.

I did take some motrin with my food, just to keep any inflammation down, and my foot feels pretty good still tonight.

Tomorrow is a phone interview, and a meeting in the late afternoon.

I was surprised at the storm damage on the west side of town, and that I only heard one loud, sharp clap of lightning/thunder. I thought to myself  "that was close", but went right back to sleep.  I didn't see any storm damage around here, and we did not lose power, either. I hope those who have had damage are recovering, and that power is restored in a timely manner.

And Good News from all the peeps who had medical events today.  God is Good!!

Thank you for reading. Hugs.
