The end of February.
I slept as well as I could, considering.
Today I've been coughing a lot, trying to get out the crap that is trying to take up residence in my respiratory tract.
Over-the-Counter medicines help.
This afternoon, after the snowplow went by, again, I went out to move the slop out of the end of the driveway. To my pleasant surprise, it wasn't very much. But would have been bumpy after freezing.
And from then, I went out to pick up some fresh food and more medicine.
After putting that stuff away, eating, and cleaning up the kitchen, I was done.
A short nap, and a quiet evening.
Tomorrow I will be better.....

Still sick.
Today I'm coughing, getting some colored stuff out of my lungs. Ick.
My outdoor adventure consisted of shoveling about 5 inches of heavy wet snow out of my driveway. I took my time, and about an hour and a half later, I called Frank to see if he was available to help. He was, and he arrived after I had finished getting the driveway open.
He did the rest, and I was happy to let him.
He left to get ready for work, and I went inside for a nap.
A quiet evening.
Tomorrow, I will be better.

Ugh.
Still dehydrating through the nose.
Where does all that fluid and mucus come from???
And my eyes have been watering all day, too.
I chose to not attend the meeting, as I didn't want to be dabbing at my nose and eyes. It looks like tears running down my face, and just a mess at my nose....
I watched the winter storm from the comfort of my living room, thankful for the warm environment.
Safe journey to the Snowbirds...you got out just in time, and hopefully missed the weather.
Tomorrow I'll be well. (positive mental attitude....)

Rested with a scratchy throat most of the night, the tylenol and motrin helping just a little bit. My nose was dripping, too, so I tried a sudafed, also. I woke frequently, but seemed to rest in between.
Finally time to get up. Thick mucus in the nose that won't "blow" out. (why is that, when it just drips clear watery stuff?) I got ready for work, snuffing a big chunk of bloody yuck. EEWWWW!!!!!
More medicine, and I'm off to work.
I did fairly well, trying to keep to myself, using lots of sanitizer and washing frequently. Even with the medication, the nose occasionally dripped clear watery stuff, and my eyes are glassy and watery, too. I must look a mess.
We needed to staff down, and I clocked out. I had some committee work to do, and was able to make some progress with it.
Tonight I'm tired, and hope that I'll be able to rest and feel better tomorrow. It's likely I can be "on-call", and if I feel up to it, I'll go in for a meeting late morning.

Woke up this morning with IT, almost full force. Yes, the Yuck.
Throughout the night I would wake with a dry scratchy throat. This morning, drippy nose and watery eyes. GREAT! (insert sarcasm)
Today I did a whole lot of not much. Trying to move things around between the phone and the computer. Sometimes I think that the digital technology of photographs is overwhelming. I hope I've got saved what I want saved....
Tomorrow is a workday.

Didn't hardly sleep last night; finally had a couple hours between 3 and 6, dozed on and off again until 0840. *sigh*
A quiet morning.
A couple loads of laundry, breakfast, shower, and a bite to eat before going in for a 4:30 meeting.

February storming right on into March. Amazing how time seems so long, and so short, all at the same time.
Worked today. I had a list of things to cover for the orientees. We got a couple of them done, and addressed the others. I think it was a good day, overall.

What a day.
Felt long, yet not long enough.
Kind of slow, or maybe "unmotivated" the morning half of the day. Although it was beautiful blue sky, it was single digits this morning. I putzed around, reading and almost snoozing a couple of times.
I finally went out this afternoon in the sunshine, to the store, where I walked around the store a couple times, and picked up a few things.
Back at home I fixed supper and ate, and did the stuff I wanted to do for work.
And tomorrow is a workday.

Pretty good day today!!
Phone rang this morning about 0730. I generally know who that might be, and it was. Work. Not enough staff, and lots of babies for the hearing screening. It's our first day of taking over; everyone was anxious about "having time" to do them. Could I come in and help??
Yes, I thought I might be able to. And I thought KS might like to go see that process.
I was right.
After breakfast, fixing a pot of soup, and setting up the bread machine, we went up to the hospital.
The other girls had to come and go, and helped me; even with their help, it was 2 hours and we got 3 babies done. Not sure how much of that is learning curve, and how much was "the way it is", but it seems that it might turn out to be a time-consuming process. We'll do what we need to do.
Back at the house, Frank pulled in behind us. We three enjoyed the company and the food.
Frank left, then KS left. I went out to shovel the driveway of about 2 inches of light fluffy stuff.
I needed to exercise, so I chose a yoga sequence and stretched. Amazing how that works.
Tomorrow I'll catch up on work emails and such, to get ready for the meetings this week. I'm happy I have a job.
Thankful, too, for the wonderful friends in my life. I am truly blessed.

What a day!!
I did sleep last night, (with the usual interruptions), and woke a few minutes before "time to get up".
We had a busy day at the J.O.B. Our newest team-mate is catching on readily and looking like she'll be a great addition.
Tired tonight, it's a quiet evening, and I'm about to turn in.
Tomorrow is a much-anticipated visit from my good friend. Looking forward to some "girl-time".

Worked today, after not sleeping much.
Why is it that one can doze/fall asleep while sitting up trying to pay attention to reading or listening to the radio, yet getting into a favorite sleeping position in a comfortable bed finds one WIDE AWAKE!!! Ack!!
So I worked today on a couple hours of sleep.
With a new orientee. She's an experienced nurse, though, and it went well.
After clocking out, another co-worker asked if I would review the project she is working on. I did--and that got me out another 40 minutes or so later.
A lovely phone call (from folks I had thought of checking on recently), and a quiet evening.
Tomorrow is another workday.

After some slow and gentle stretching, my back went back into place, and I went out for a gentle run. There's only a small amount of residual soreness tonight, I'm happy to say.

A pretty good day today.
Went in for a meeting/teaching session. I think we're going to do ok with the overtaking of the Infant Hearing Screening program. We're taking it over from the volunteers, who have been doing infant hearing screenings for 12 years, since it's inception. The meeting lasted longer than scheduled, and when I got home I was ready for food.
So I heated up supper and ate.
Caught up on the computer, then went out for milk, which I had forgotten to get on the way home.
A quiet night.
Tomorrow is another evening in the afternoon.
My ear popped again today. And my voice is still not all that. I'll sure be glad when I'm "all better".

I knew I was tired when I went to bed last night. And this morning, the radio had been on for 15 minutes before I heard it..... up and at 'em, off to the J.O.B.
It was another great day with the best co-workers. One of the girls brought "leftovers" from a wedding reception that she had helped with. Home made leftovers. Yum. Thanks, PV!
Clocked out, and home.
Comfy clothes and heating pad on my back. It's better today, thank you God.
Tomorrow is a noon-thirty meeting---I'm hoping to finish my sleep tonight.

I succeeded today in doing a whole lot of nothing.
Other than removing about 5 inches of snow from my driveway. And I hurt the right side of the lumbar area of my back. Shoot.
So, I enjoyed the heating pad, and doing a whole lot of nothing.
But when I went outdoors later in the afternoon to get the mail, the sun was out and the driveway had melted dry. Woo Hoo!!!

An early morning meeting/class today that led into the next meeting. And while in the second meeting, PV and I were summoned to do an interview. *sigh* That done, we went back and closed the meeting out. I had taken a light lunch, and I ate that before leaving.
A stop at the financial institution, a thrift shop, and a dollar store.
Back at home, I was surprised that the crock pot wasn't done yet. And since the sun was shining, I went out for a run in the high thirty-degree afternoon.
It was very pleasant out there.
The rest of the afternoon/evening was quiet. I enjoyed the yummy food, and portion-packaged the rest of it. Cleaned the kitchen, looked at the computer.
And I'm tired.
Tomorrow I hope to do a whole lot of not much.

A beautiful sunny day today.
Got several things accomplished--unpacked a couple boxes ( !! ), 3 loads of laundry, drove to Mason and back for a Most Wonderful Massage, filled the gas tank on the car, got a few groceries. Prepared the crock pot for tomorrow, fixed my supper for tonight and ate, got the sewing box out and mended a shirt.
Tomorrow is an early morning for a couple of meetings at the J.O.B.
A little sore tonight--Leah found the stress areas and moved it on out! Oh, and got the eustachion tube to drain again. Durn thang wants to stay congested...

What a busy day... the first half was busy, and just as I was thinking I might be able to consume a cup of coffee while I began charting (late morning), I was asked if I could take a few minutes to do an impromptu interview. ?!?!?? *SIGH* OK......
Interview done, the surgical had come back, and I stepped into getting her recovered. I went to the cafeteria and procured lunch, eating a few bites on the way back to the floor. Down the hall, then back to the "break room" for a few more bites. Yes, that's my half hour unpaid lunch.
With the turnover of patients, the afternoon was like a whole different day. Busy. I was doing recovery stuff at 7 pm--and the greatest co-workers in the world came in and took over. Yippee!!! I introduced them to the patient, thanked her for letting me take care of her today, and told her I'd be back tomorrow.
By the time I got the documentation done, it was closing in on 8 o'clock.
When I got home to a shoveled driveway (thanks, Frank, the Best Son Ever!!!) I realized I was really glad he had done that. There was more snow than I realized.
And tomorrow I get to do it all again. Same thing, only different,

I had a good day today.
A restful morning, then went out and shoveled the driveway. I thought it was great that I got in just as it started snowing really hard. Oh, wait....waaaa....I just shoveled...... another inch or so.....
So be it.
I spent a little time in the basement, sorting and discarding. *sigh* It seems to be a slow process consolidating two houses.
Back upstairs, I had rummaged around in the freezer and found some chili. Yum!!
I ate, showered, pedicure. Cleaned the bathroom and the kitchen. Had a quiet night; the Superbowl is on, and the lights are coming back on. That was an oddity!
Work tomorrow.

What a work day. All the babies born yesterday needed their 24-hour testing done today. Procedures that went "off track" rearranged my morning, and by 1:30 I was starting the 10 AM documentation, with still no lunch. Ugh.
On the positive side, the rest of the day went fairly well, with the best co-workers ever. Special thanks to the 2 student nurses that were eager to learn and do.
Tomorrow I'll have to shovel; I don't see 50 degrees and rain in the next couple of days. (Yes, I looked. This is Michigan, after all.)
And may you rest in peace, Uncle Arthur.

Friday 02.01.201
Another work day.
Turned out pretty good, considering how busy we were. Of course, the greatest co-workers ever make it the best.
And I'm tired tonight.
I'm feeling better, but that right ear is still popping and crackling, with the eustachian tube still feeling swollen. But overall, better. Thank God.
Tomorrow is another workday, a "make up" day because I called in sick on a Friday (considered a week end day, therefore subject to having to "make up" a day) way back in December when I first got this bug. Yes, it's been that long. But I'm better....
