Friday 05.31.2013

The last of May.

And a much nicer day at the lake.  The humidity was lower, as was the temperature, making it much more comfortable for those of us without "climate control" a.k.a. air conditioning.

I went out for a gentle run, which was very nice. I was surprised at the number of cars there were today; and every one of them waved at me. That was really nice!

Shower and breakfast. And I really wasn't feeling well. Hmm. So I listened to my body and just rested. I sat outdoors and read some. Went inside and did a little food prep for later. Still not much better, I went back outside.

T&KS arrived. Unloaded and we visited. Before we went to dinner, I shop-vac'd the window sills and corners of the ceiling and such, while they put the clean curtains up.  Thanks, KS, for washing them yesterday.

After dinner at the Eagle's Friday Fish Fry (what a turn out--the place was packed) we stopped in to visit her parents, then back to the GC to "watch it get dark".  So lovely.  I realized that I haven't seen any bats yet. I'll have to keep watching...

I'm feeling better this evening. Don't know what that was all about.

Thursday 05.30.2013

Another HOT day at the lake.  Mid 80's, sun, not much breeze.

Until 3:30 or so, when the thunderstorms rolled nearby. A little rain, and the temp dropped to the high 70's.

I finished cleaning the trailer today, and while it was so hot, I took a break and drove into town to cool off in the air conditioned car.  I got all my errands done.

This evening there was a hummingbird at the feeder, two ducks were on the dock, the blue heron was stalking on our seawall, and the loons have been noisy. When I came out of the trailer, I startled a deer that was feeding in the back yard. Whoa!

Welcome home from Iraq to great nephew Drew. Thank you for serving.

And thank you for reading. Hugs.

Wednesday 05.29.2013

What a great day today!!!

Sunshine, blue sky, and temperatures that could have been just a bit too warm....but being at the lake is totally awesome.

A light wind this afternoon, quieting down to a mirror surface in the evening. We could see the bugs swarming over the water, and the numerous circles radiating out from fish surfacing to eat.  And the mosquitoes.  Chased me indoors.

Tom was busy, mowing the yard, helping the in-laws with their outdoor chores, coming back to the GC and finishing the yard, and putting the rest of our dock in. I swept off the  cottage, knocking down numerous starts of wasp/bee/hornet nests from the eaves/soffits, and let T knock down the few that were active. I picked up some of the sticks and branches and helped with the dock.

I got a little too warm--combination of sun and hot flash??--and got pretty queasy for a few minutes.  I got in the shade and slowed down, and felt better after a short time.

After supper in downtown Long Lake the wind was quieting, and the mosquitoes were very active. I went in and showered; even being clean didn't deter the little biters.  I stayed inside the rest of the evening.

Tomorrow I'll get back into the trailer and finish that project.

Now, if the waste water line can be easily remedied.....

Tuesday 05.28.2013

I made it to The Lake.

Occasional fine misty sprinkly stuff on the way, but mostly drying pavement.  The temperature has slowly risen from high 50's to low 60's, with a quiet lake and gray  wherever you look. The other side of the lake disappeared for a bit, too.

When that fog lifted some, the bugs were hovering over the water and the fish were feeding like crazy. I don't know if I've ever heard that many splashes!

I got the freshly laundered curtains back up in the trailer.

Tomorrow I have "project work" to do before I do much else.

And it's predicted to be low 80's and humid. Oh goody. ??

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Monday 05.27.2013 Memorial Day

I didn't have to go in this morning--turned off the radio and went back to sleep. I ended up snoozing on and off, finally waking at almost 9:30!!  I knew I was tired....

And I wanted to go run, but it was looking real gray, and was on the cool side.  Instead of talking myself out of a run, I talked myself into it after looking at the weather map. Looks like rain coming pretty soon. After an hour or so, I went out.

It was a little drippy, just enough to smell "wet pavement" occasionally. A steady light rain started as I was cooling off, walking the last bit home.

And it rained all the rest of the day.

I managed a shower, breakfast, and 3 or 4 loads of laundry. Fixed a nice salad for supper and enjoyed that, as well as good telephone conversation.

10:00, and I'm ready for bed again. I needed this day of "not working".

I may go up to the lake tomorrow, or may wait until Wednesday. Not sure yet.

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Sunday 05.26.2013

Another Totally Awesome Day at the J.O.B!

We sent all of our patients home on the overflow unit, and we were able to leave, too. I had an unexpected couple of hours....

So I stopped at the store for fresh food; I was planning to go anyway, but now I didn't feel rushed to hurry and get home.

Put those things away, had a bite to eat (since I didn't have time for much of a lunch), changed clothes and went outdoors.

The chipmunk has pushed up a couple of my new plants, so I moved them out of the way. (excuuuuuse me!!!)  The others look good, but maybe a couple look like they've been nibbled on. Hm. And then I check on the begonia that I've overwintered --the first leaf had come up with a nice growth bud below it.  Hey--something ate it!!  Shooooot.  Maybe it will grow back more, being "pinched off" like that.

So I got my chair and my book and my phone and sat outdoors for a bit, enjoying the birds and their behaviours. The a couple of hummingbirds are frequenting the feeder, the big fat robin is drinking often at the birdbath, and occasionally hops in and splashes around. Several other birds have been by to drink and splash in just the hour or so that I was out there watching. So cool.

And it did get cool as the clouds moved in and the sun lowered.

I moved a chair next to a window so I could continue to look outside as I checked email and such. I saw a big rabbit, and a younger rabbit. Might be the plant-eating perps...

Tomorrow I'm scheduled to work, too, but with the census being low, I'm hoping I don't have to go in. And, that I don't have to go in and "float" to another unit. Sure would be nice to sleep in.

I did rest last night, intermittently as I do, but I felt much better today than yesterday. And I'm tired again tonight.

Please remember that Memorial Day is for Remembering--and Honoring those who have gone before us.

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Saturday 05.25.2013

After not-much-sleep last night (I was cold, even with the electric mattress pad turned up. And I didn't want to get out of bed to turn the furnace up. I learned last night to just get up and be comfortable....)  I got up for the J.O.B.  Yep, glad I have it.

But, boy, was I tired today. The kind of tired that your head feels swimmy and you recognize the words and know their definitions, but putting everything together doesn't happen. Of course, I was with the Best Co-Workers Ever. I was able to get through the day safely, even helped a couple of patients with feeding issues.  Go Me!

At home, I continued with the laundry project I brought home from the lake. I went out and watered the plants, rinsed and put fresh water in the bird bath (the robin comes and drinks when I'm about 10 steps away from it....). Changed into jammas, switched the laundry a couple of times, and am ready for bed in a timely manner.

I'm looking forward to sleeping.

And getting up again in the morning.

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Friday May 24, 2013

Home again.

This morning was bright and sunny, still with a good breeze. But the blue water reflected the beautiful sky. Oh, I love the lake. It was still pretty chilly, though, and by the time I had breakfast and was ready to get outdoors, the temp had gotten all the way to 48 degrees!

After collecting and repacking my things, I got the shop-vac going in the cottage. Around the perimeters of the rooms, but I'd really like to move the larger items and get behind and under and such. Lots of cobwebs--sucked up several spiders. Ick. I left the vacuum there and hope to get into cottage cleaning next week, after I finish the trailer.

Loaded the car, made sure I had everything, hope I closed up like I was supposed to, and got on the road.

I stopped in Hale to drop the trash and the recycles, and the Fish store was busy. Hmm, I have a few minutes, and I've been missing the Fish store....

A quick look around. Looks like they've cleared out and made room for the "after Memorial Day clean-up let's take it to the Fish store" stuff.

An uneventful drive, thank you God.

I stopped in Montrose to visit A. Lois. Diane met me there. We had a nice visit, and LoLo is doing well. A couple more weeks, hopefully.  As it became meal time, we accompanied her to the dining area and said good-byes.  Diane and I went out for supper, too, and had a good visit.

Continuing on to Jackson.

All was well at the house. I've unloaded, unpacked, gotten a load of laundry washed, dried, and folded; and showered.

Ready for work tomorrow.

*Exhale*

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Thursday 05.23.2013

Whew--windy and cold and drizzly wet today.  Temp was 44 about 3pm. The rain had stopped, but was still breezy. *shiver*

After a quiet morning, I went into the trailer and started on my project.  I ended up doing more than I thought I might, but the day was done before I was. I got all through the closets and kitchen cupboards and drawers, removing everything and wiping/washing inside and out.  Next will be the living room. Next trip, that is. I've got three bags of linens and curtains to take home and launder.

I'm disappointed, though, that the toilet water isn't flushing out of the bowl.  I've plunged and plunged, to no avail. Hmmm....

A lovely break this afternoon when T&KS were here. We walked around a bit before going up to Big Bob's for food. Thanks!!  I enjoyed the company.

The wind has slowed some, and the skies cleared just before sunset. The moon is now strong in the sky.  Beautiful.

Tomorrow I'll shop-vac the cottage before loading up for home, stopping to see LoLo on the way.

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Wednesday 05.22.2013

Pleasant surprise--when I finally got done with chores today, I got the telephone unpacked and plugged in.  Dial tone!!  And after a bit, I plugged in the modem--Internet!!!!   Yay!!!  I wasn't expecting it to be transferred until tomorrow....

I'm at the Goodwin Cottage (the GC).  It's cool and rainy.  The rain finally stopped, mostly, just before nightfall. I hear occasional showers, and it's windy.

I've been cleaning in the trailer.  The winter silt filters in through the not-tight-fitting windows. I chased out a big black spider, and several smaller ones, as well as both smaller ants and a couple of carpenter ants. Ick.  I'll work on it again tomorrow; tonight I'm staying in the cottage.

I hope the rain stops.

I'm tired, and getting stiff from the contortions of cleaning in small spaces.  Ahh, electric blanket, tylenol, and motrin.

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Tuesday 05.21.2013

A pretty good workday for me; better because I wasn't "on the floor" all day. The break in the middle was very good.  And while I was on the floor, I was able to help two new babies and their mothers in their most beautiful place--skin to skin. God has sure given me this gift. Not only the gift of helping the new couplet, but the gift of being allowed into their intimate space. So humbling, and so awesome.

Back home, I did the outdoor chores that I didn't want to do tomorrow morning before going north. And I'm just about ready to go. Shower, pack, load, and a couple of stops along the way. Hope the first part of the day goes well....

Praying for people affected by the severe weather.

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Monday 05.20.2013

Can work get any more like, um, work??  Today got busy with every one of my fabulous co-workers focused on their responsibilities, seemingly with blinders on.  Every once in a while we were able to come up for air, look beyond the blinders, help each other if we could, (if even just an encouraging word) and get back to our own doings. It's an intricate pattern, this thing called "patient care".  And I'm proud to be a part of our team.

I enjoyed the ride home with the top down. 86 degrees. Amazing.

Fortunately, I had forgotten to turn off the air conditioning--set at 78. I was pleasantly surprised that the temperature indoors was just that--78.  But it has not turned off yet in the 2 hours I've been home. Maybe I'll turn it off when I leave again in the morning....

And tomorrow is another workday. Two interviews to do, and two meetings. I've got coverage for all. Go Me!

Praise to God for the safe return to US soil of my great-nephew, and all others who are serving Our Fine Country.

And thank you for reading. Hugs.

Sunday 05.19.2013

Another beautiful day.

Could it be that this is our summer???  It is Michigan.....

I slept well again this morning, thank you God. I was just going out for a run when I answered the phone. So I went out after that.

Whew--getting hot.

Breakfast, shower.

I spent most of the afternoon outdoors. I read for a while, and watched the birds. All 4 robin eggs have hatched. Another smaller bird pair is still creating their nest in the birdhouse. I got the hose out and watered the plants, washed out the bird bath, and put the hose away. Just about as soon as I was away from the bath, the birds were coming up to drink. They're hot, too.

Did a load of laundry, putting it outdoors to finish drying.  Love that smell....

I had a hankerin' for chicken noodle soup--so I made a pot. Ohmygosh, it turned out really good. It's portioned out and packaged and labeled; so nice to pull from the freezer.

I also did a little trimming with the string trimmer.

I've gotten everything together, I think, to go north on Wednesday.

Monday and Tuesday are workdays.

I'm ready for another shower and off to bed.

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Saturday 05.18.2013

Marching right along, through the month, next comes summer....

I finally slept well this morning. I was surprised to see the time was 0848!

Sunshine and birdsong. I got up and went outdoors for a few minutes before having breakfast. So Beautiful!

This morning when I looked into the robin's nest, there were 2 hatched! Surprising, though, that I didn't find any shells. Not on the ground, or caught up in the branches.  This evening, a third has hatched, and the first two are fluffed out, moving their heads around better, raising up their beaks wide open! So cool!

I went out and spent some time at an "event" that Frank was at with his girlfriend and her parents. They had a table, selling their wares. Interesting stuff.

Back at home I prepared food, started laundry, and sat outdoors for a bit.

A quiet evening, collecting items to take to the cottage this week.

Tomorrow is another sunny day.

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Friday 05.17.2013

Worked today.

Steady busy.  I was able to have lunch, about 11:30. Somewhere around 5pm, I was 2 hours behind. Ugh.

Everyone was busy. Staying on task, one call light, one pain medicine, one phone call; one new patient, another patient arriving; one visitor request; 2 waters, one more trip down the hall. One at a time.

We continued on; the next shift came in and got report. As we were each continuing to pick away, we had to update them. And I only had a couple things to pass on that I hadn't been able to do. "That's why there's a next shift...."  I know. What a challenge to do your best, and hand over the remainders of the work day.

They were very gracious. I tell you, I have the greatest co-workers EVER.

I clocked out on time, surprisingly, but stayed to pick up personal loose ends.

Stopping on the way home for an errand, I watered the plants, checked on the robins.  It looks like two of the 4 eggs have peck holes in them, like they are starting to hatch??  Awesome!

The hummingbirds are feeding, the bird bath needed more water (they sure get to splashing...), the new plants are watered.

A quiet rest of the evening, and I'm ready for bed.

Tomorrow has a few ideas....

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Thursday 05.16.2013

Another great day!!!

Woke to birdsong and sunshine.....

Breakfast, book keeping, errands.

Bought a few vincas and put them in.

Cleaned up, supper, and off to a meeting that turned out to be very brief. OK by me.

Back at home, I sat outside and watched the birds. Amazing little creatures with interesting behaviors.  And a robin splashing around in the bird bath!!  So fun!!

Alas, the mosquitoes chased me in. I'll sure miss my Bug Free Zone. Will have to find a solution....

Tomorrow is a workday.

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Wednesday 05.15.2013

What a great day today!!

Enjoyed being in my "sleeping room" with the windows open. I think I'll be more comfortable in there.

Had a good meeting this morning; when I got back home it was clear skies and 75 degrees. I decided to go out for a run.

What a difference--Sunday was bundled up and sleet, today was shorts and tank top. Geesh.

After a shower and a bite for lunch, I went outside and sat in the dappled sunlight, and read. *sigh*  It was so beautiful with a light wind blowing the fragrance of lilacs.  I was out for a maybe 3 hours. Lovely.

Supper and a quiet evening.

Late afternoon meeting tomorrow.

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Tuesday 05.14.2013

Worked today.

We had a good day, with the best co-workers ever.  Teamwork, camaraderie, friendship.

Blessed.

That left breast wasn't quite as full this morning; I took several minutes to do some of the lymph massage. It did seem to help. This afternoon I noticed the wound bed was itching. More annoying than uncomfortable, I also noticed that it didn't seem as full. Maybe I did something helpful with that mini treatment....

At home, I removed the plastic from the 2 windows in the sleeping room. Oh, yeah, now I've got fresh air moving around.  Ahhhhh......

Tomorrow is another meeting.

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Sunday 05.12.2013

Another good day.

Cold and windy, though.

I had breakfast and looked at the computer for a bit. The sun fought through the clouds, and it warmed up to 40 or so--I decided to go out for a run.

Oh, yes, it was cold. I was thinking I might have wanted a hat--and then little ice pellets were stinging my face. It only lasted a couple minutes, and that blast of cold air blew on through. It was a good run overall.

Back inside, I showered, then decided to move my "sleeping room" and my "dressing room".  The sleeping room is on the west side of the house, and with full sun, even the central air doesn't cool it down very well. (Paired with the lack of insulation in the walls and ceiling....)  The dressing room was in the southwest corner, which is shaded the majority of the day. Much cooler. And, there is a window on each of two walls, which gives more ventilation. I've gotta have air moving.

A few hours later, the rooms were switched around. Things don't fit as well, but I'm looking forward to trying it out. I can always move it back....

I had to go outdoors again to replant a few of those impatiens I had put in yesterday; the chipmunk pushed them up out of the it's tunnel...

Frank stopped over, and we had a quiet evening.

Tomorrow is a workday for me.

Blessings to all who mother...

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Saturday 05.11.2013

I had a good day today.

Slept pretty good, got up and enjoyed breakfast.

After a while, the sun came out, and I was able to put the flowers in the ground that  I had bought yesterday. I know it's supposed to be close to freezing the next couple nights, but these are tucked under the lilacs along the driveway. I think they'll be ok.

And I didn't have to go in to the J.O.B. for the last four hours of the shift that I had picked up.

So I got the hose out and watered the plants good, got the bird bath out, cleaned it, and placed it; cleaned the hummingbird feeder and filled it with fresh food, and scared (unintentionally) the robin off the nest several times. I wonder if they will ever get accustomed to me walking by, or coming in or out of my door?

I texted Frank to tell him I wasn't working, and he came over. We ran errands together, stopping at Menard's. I bought a small gas grill I had seen yesterday that was on sale. $65, after a $20 rebate. It's definitely a low-end model, but there was a man putting one on his cart when we were, and he said it was a great buy. That encouraged me.

Frank and I spent the next few hours assembling the little cooker. I sure appreciated the garage today! The cold front moved through, and it was 40 degrees by the time we were done.

And almost dark.

Time to get something to eat.

No, we didn't use the grill.

Maybe tomorrow.

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Friday 05.10.2013

A bit cooler today--got up to the low 60's in the early afternoon and dropped from there. Overcast, too.

Went out for a run this morning. Shower, breakfast, then went out for errands.

That took longer than I had anticipated.

I prepared food and ate, caught up on the financial status, and had a quiet evening.

Tomorrow I picked up a few hours at the J.O.B.

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Thursday 05.09.2013

I was surprised that sleeping just that half hour more made a difference. Having coverage for an early morning meeting was nice.  Thanks, JPK.

After the meeting, we had a Code drill--it was brought to the forefront that we needed a way to get more help if a baby is "bad" immediately after delivery. Code Neonatal was born. (pun intended)

This was the first time we had implemented the process.  And it worked!!  Found a few things to tweak; we'll be doing another one in June on the other shift. So reassuring to see professionals in their specialties showing up, prepared to save a life. It's another reason why Allegiance Health is one of the Top 5% of Hospitals in the nation for safety.  I'm proud to be a part of this team.

We debriefed, took a break, and set up for a potluck. Can you say Yum??

Then it was back to the floor, to take over for the rest of the day.

It was challenging, and steadily busy. I picked at charting as I went along, but was almost a half hour after the next shift had started before I was finished. *sigh*

At home, the humid air carried the most awesome scent of ....  something. I walked around the yard, putting my nose in the blooming branches. I couldn't identify which was giving off the fragrance.

I was surprised to see there are a couple bunches of tulip, now with close to a dozen buds each. Looking forward to seeing them bloom.

Tomorrow is catch-up-on-household day.

My left arm started aching this afternoon. Both above and below the elbow. I lightly rubbed it a little when I could, and it's just a little better. Well, not aching like it was. Hoping it will resolve overnight.

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Wednesday 05.08.2013

Another great day at the J.O.B. with the best co-workers ever.

At home, made a pasta salad for a pot luck tomorrow.

And I've got coverage for a meeting the first part of the day.

Pray for our elders...

Tuesday 05.07.2013

Yesterday, Monday, I spent a few hours outdoors trying to tame the growth in the yard. I pulled grass, cut suckers, found some new growth on an old clematis. Fed and watered the peonies, which last year, got frosted as the buds were forming. Looks like there are at least a few buds so far this year.

I enjoyed being out in the sun and listening to the birds.

I was also surprised to find a bird nest in the shrub next to my back door.  Yep--a robin nest. I startled the nest-sitter when I walked around the corner. And I can say the bird startled me, too, as it noisily flapped out. There were 3 blue eggs in it--I look forward to watching the little fledglings...

Today, I went out for a run in another beautiful, sunshiney morning, full of birdsong. I checked on the bird nest...

4 eggs today!!  Very Cool! I don't think I've ever seen a new nest up close, to watch them hatch and grow.

Breakfast, shower, and a meeting in the afternoon.

A stop at the store for fresh food; supper, and a quiet evening.

Continued prayers for our dear Aunt Lois, whose hip dislocated last night. Successful surgery this evening, and hoping for as easy of recovery as she could have.

Tomorrow is a workday.

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Friday 05.03.2013 Assimilating...

I've spent the day doing errands and making phone calls.

Sharing the news.

Cut free; free from the oncology doctors.

While that nagging question might always be somewhere--wondering if that little twinge of something could be something.

I'm sure I'll see the words "cancer" and "oncology" and "radiation" and "chemotherapy infusion" and have a little jolt.  But I also know that time will lessen that jolt and the hard-to-describe feeling one gets when seeing those signs. Driving down the road, on and in professional buildings. Billboards. Television and radio. You just can't get away from it.

But it will get further and further behind me.

Praise God.

Disease-free Survival.

Wow.

That's me.

Back to Wellness on Planet Earth.

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Thursday 05.02.2013 Doctor Day

What a day!!

Got up and ready and went to Owosso (since he "gave up" his office hours in Lansing) for my appointment with the Oncologist.

After checking in, and waiting, Dr. Daniel Williams finally came in.  He was pleasant, as usual, and we chatted about the usual stuff:  how are you feeling, everything going ok, you look good, your tests are all good....

And then he stopped looking at the computer and started talking about the "European Study", in which half of the women (with hormone receptor positive tumors) were given tamoxifen and the other half tamoxifen and an aromatase inhibitor. The study was supposed go for five years, but the results within the first two years were so significantly positive that the study was stopped after 2 1/2 years, and an aromatase inhibitor was added to all of the women's treatment plan.

He went on to say that the 10-year results are coming in, and the survival rate--not just survival rate, but disease-free survival rate--is extremely high. And that the initial results are showing that the protection holds beyond the 10 years, after stopping the medication.

I'm getting the idea that he's going to recommend that I stay on the letrozole for a while longer....

My tumor was hormone receptor positive; the treatment was surgery (times 2, to get a larger clear margin), chemotherapy, and tamoxifen. After a year and a half or so, I was switched to the aromatase inhibitor. I started the tamoxifen in July or August of 2008, which means I've been on the pills coming up on 5 years.

Dr. said my tumor was hormone receptor positive--strongly positive--which means that the treatment with the aromatase inhibitor is very effective. And he stated again that continuing the letrozole for another 5 years is the evidence for disease free survival.

He paused.

I told him I was all about survival--that's why it's so important to me to that I take care of myself--but disease-free survival is really my goal. So, if the data shows that I need to take that pill for another 5 years.......OKAY!!!!!

Then he went on to review the frequency of the testing I have.

1.) Mammography/MRI of breasts--annual
2.) Bone Scan--"I don't think you need to do those any more"
3.) CT Scan of the Abdomen and Pelvis--"I don't think you need that any more, either"
4.) Bone Density--yes, every other year. Didn't have one this year, so next year get that done. The aromatase inhibitors can leech the calcium and other minerals from the bones, but you're active and take your supplements, so I don't see much of a problem with that. Besides, it's relatively easy to fix.
5.) Blood Test--CA 25, 27--annual
6..) And I think your Primary Care Physician can take care of all of these things.

WHAT??!!!!

So I don't need to see YOU again??

He smiled.

I don't think so, he replied.

I'm right here if you need anything. Dr. Taylor can call if he has any questions or concerns, and so can you; just call. But I think you're good.

He got back to the computer, and started typing again.

I'll send this to Dr. Taylor, and he'll get this in a couple of days. Anytime he has a question, just call.  You too, he says, as he looked at me and smiled.

"So I don't need to see you again....."  Wow. THAT'S a new reality.

I've been seeing him every 6 months since end of treatment.

And now I'm cut free of the Cancer Doctors.

YIPPEE!!!!

PRAISE THE LORD!!!!

Thank you to ALL of you who have helped me, prayed for me, kept me in your thoughts, listened to my anxieties when I've gotten lab work done or scans done.

The strengths of each of us together is what has gotten me through this.

May we continue to share those strengths.

Thank you.

AMEN, and AMEN.

Thursday 05.01.2013 May Day

What a beautiful day!!

Started out with a lively meeting, we broke for lunch, re-gathered in a vehicle and went to a conference in Detroit.

The conversation was a continuation of the meeting discussions. And the conference was good, too.

Our driver did a good job getting us safely back to Jackson in the 5 o'clock Detroit traffic. Hairy a couple of times--drivers' swerving lane changes, tailgating, and abruptly braking. Geesh.

Back at my car, it was 78 degrees in a clear blue sky. I got into my own vehicle, and realized--Hey! I can put the top down today!!!   And I did!!  Didn't even need the heater on!

What a lovely drive the rest of the way home.

I spent a few minutes outdoors, but needed to eat, so I went back in.

Fed, showered, looked at email.

Now time for bed.

Tomorrow is an oncology appointment, then lunch with a very good friend.

Thank you for reading. Hugs.
