Friday 12.30.2011

Another workday. Busy, but ok, with a great group of co-workers.

It's rained all day, and the little bit of snow that was on the ground is now gone. The temperature on the drive home was 41 degrees. Odd, isn't it, for the last of December??

Tomorrow I'm taking a bit of a drive to visit my dear friend V. You know how you think of someone and say "oh, we should get together..." Well, we're getting together. And I'm looking forward to it.

I forgot to mention yesterday that both of my breasts have been sore and tender for a couple of days. Which makes me go "hmm". Not unlike the "monthly" tenderness I used to have. The question is, Why?? My hormone levels should be absolutely flatline. I still wonder about the generic Femara (letrazole) made in India. And you know that I'll be talking to Doctor about it in January. (Today they are not as sore.)

And it's New Year's Eve. Of course, Daniel has to be at the casino, and I'm scheduled to work on the First, so we won't be together. *sad face*

Thursday 12.29.2011

I had a pretty good day today. Slept fairly well, overall.

It's interesting that the hot flashes are much less often and much less intense with the generic letrazole (Femara) that's made in India. I did have a doozy of a flash though this afternoon. "Reminded me of the old days..." Note that I did not say "good".

I got the second bathroom, and guest bedroom cleaned, bedding and all. Ready for the next guest.

And Christmas is almost put away, too.

Tomorrow is a workday. (I'm secretly hoping to be called off in the morning...)

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Wednesday 12.28.2011

We had a good day today. The sun was out, but it was cold.

We went to lunch with Dan's friend, A, and A's friend H. I had not been to P.F.Chang's -- it was very good, (though a bit over-priced, even if it was lunchtime. I enjoyed the food as well as the company. Thank you, A.

When we got back to the house, I couldn't keep my eyes open; I laid down for a 20 minute rest. But the sky was clear blue, and I had to get outdoors. I was glad I took a scarf, as the temperature was about 25, but the wind chill felt about 10. Whew!--Winter has arrived!

Not long after I got back inside, Dan left to go back to the trailer. *sad face*

I've had a quiet night, and am sleepy.

Not sure what's doing tomorrow.

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Tuesday 12.27.2011

A good workday today, even though I didn't sleep more than an hour or so last night. (Daniel was sleeping noisily.)

We had wet snow all day today in Jackson. I was happy that the roads were only wet and almost slushy. I didn't have to clean the car off, either, as it was mostly melted. A safe drive home, thank you God.

Tomorrow we have a lunch date with the "trailer dwellers"--Dan's friend who's travel trailer is at the JC. And Dan will go back to being a "trailer dweller" too.

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Monday 12.26.2011

What a great day today!

Kris helped me get the turkey stuffed and in the pan, and went on her way for the afternoon.

Frank came up about 1:30, and we enjoyed the afternoon together, taking a short walk in the clear blue sky sunshine. Lovely.

Nick showed up about 4:30, just as we had begun to carve the bird. We three went ahead and ate, as the girls (Bre and Kris) and Daniel weren't here yet. They all showed up, though, and we didn't have much in the way of leftovers.

We had our gift exchange with Frank after getting the kitchen mostly cleaned up. Bre and Nick left after a bit, and Kris did, too. Frank wandered out about 9:30, and Dan went to bed.

I'm tired, and my back hurt, but a little tylenol and motrin helped the discomfort.

Tomorrow is a workday for me.

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Sunday 12.25.2011 Christmas Day

I ended up working today, and it was a pretty good day, overall. And it was only 8 hours.

This afternoon/evening I made a pumpkin pie. (with molasses...)

Tomorrow I'm fixing a small turkey and Holiday Salad. I miss our "family food". And I wanted my house to smell good. If Frank doesn't come up I'm going to have a lot of leftovers.

My hips are a little sore--that happens when I jog/run consecutive days. But I had to get out in the sun...

I hope everyone had a blesssed day today.

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Saturday 12.24.2011

Kind of a slow day today.

I put the final touches on the Christmas decor and the wrapped the last packages.

The sun had come out this afternoon, and I couldn't resist going outdoors--I went out for a run in the sun. That felt really nice.

Shower and a snack, and a quiet evening.

Tomorrow is a workday, unless I get the morning phone call.

Thank you for reading.

And remember, Jesus is the Reason for the Season.

Christmas Hugs.

Friday 12.23.2011

I was disappointed to see the clouds this morning--I was hoping to be able to run in the sun.

But, alas, I went out in overcast, 28-degee weather.

Breakfast, then shower.

Over to daughter Kim's for the Jacque Christmas.

Kris, Kim, Bre, Dan, Kathy, Frank. Our blended family, minus Jeremy.

We had a nice afternoon. Dan left work early to join us, stayed a couple hours, and went on back.

Kris had an event to get to, and we left a short while later.

I've had a quiet evening--candles and soft music.

I've felt pretty good again today. Thank you God.

We'll see what tomorrow brings....

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Thursday 12.22.2011

Drizzly gloomy day again today.

I worked; it was busy.

A safe drive home in the snain (snow/rain mix).

Kris and I had an enjoyable evening, listening to some quiet music.

Tomorrow we go to the Jacque Christmas, and I get to see my husband. (I've been missing him)

I'm feeling pretty good tonight, too, other than being tired.

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Wednesday 12.21.2011

Whew. Another workday. And we were busy. Total of 17 discharges--rooms cleaned and the influx of patients to fill the unit again. Ugh.

The day finally ended, 12 1/2 hours later, and I was able to leave.

I went over to Lauretta's for a much needed haircut. Thank you for helping me look good!

A safe drive home, thank you God, and Kris was there! Yippee!! We had a nice evening, talking and catching up. It's good to see her.

Tomorrow is a workday for me, and I'm tired tonight.

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Tuesday 12.20.2011

I'm happy to say I slept pretty good and woke up feeling rested. Thank you God.

I've done a few errands today, grocering, post office, car wash. Cleaned house, guest bedroom readied.

I work tomorrow, and Kris called to say her friends were asking her to stay another night with them. So, she'll be coming tomorrow, too.

Come on, Christmas.

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Monday 12.19.2011

Dan was up and out this morning, a couple errands he needed to get done. When he got back, we wrapped gifts. Almost done!!

He ended up leaving to go back for a meeting this afternoon. Ugh. This salaried position is requiring a lot of his time.

I went out for a run. It was a balmy 47 degrees.

The rest of the evening was quiet.

Tomorrow his daughter Kris will be joining me for several days. I'm looking forward to seeing her.

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Sunday 12.18.2011

I worked yesterday, but my wonderful co-workers (and the workload) made it possible for me to leave just after 5 pm so I could go to the "Sanders Christmas Sing--South". The roads were less than optimal, with a snow that had been falling most of the day, almost melting on the pavement; the overpasses were glazing over making my heart beat.

I made it safely to Holt, thank you God, and met Frank, who also had arranged for someone to cover his work hours, at the Park and Ride. He made it safely, too, thanks again.

We drove over to Grand Blanc. The roads improved about halfway there, and we arrived at the beautiful Mortimer residence safely. The remaining guests arrived and we got the party started.

And what a lovely party it was. We enjoyed the music, singing, family, and fellowship. This is what Christmas is all about for me. And for most, if not all, of the rest of my family.

We left somewhere around 11 pm and got back to Holt about midnight, the highway having been salted and much better driving. Frank continued on his way home and I got myself ready for work in the morning.

After maybe 3 hours of sleep, I got up and back on the road to Jackson, which was mostly dry. It seemed the car had barely cooled off...

We had another great workday, with great co-workers, and we were able to leave in a timely manner.

Dan was home when I got home. We had a quiet night.

Not sure what we'll be doing tomorrow before he goes back.

I'm hoping to sleep tonight....

Thank you for reading. Fa la la la la.

Friday 12.16.2011

Another Good Day!! I sure like it when I'm feeling good--better than I have in, probably, years. Since Before Cancer. Even with the heart acting up, though the last few weeks it has been less frequent and less intense. Thank you God.

I had a wonderful massage with Leah. And after a shower and a bite to eat, I went out for fuel for the vehicle and fuel for the body.

The rest of the evening, I got several of the gifts wrapped. Just about ready for Christmas.

Work tomorrow, and the Sanders' Christmas Sing South tomorrow night. I'm ready...

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Thursday 12.15.2011

I had another good day!! Loving it....

The rain stopped mid-morning. When I went out for a jog it was 52 degrees and overcast. Very interesting. The air felt like humid Florida.

Food and shower.

I sorted through clothing and did some laundry. Phone calls, picking away at chores.

Tomorrow is massaahge with Leah. Oh, Yeah.

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Wednesday 12.14.2011

I had a good day today.

Washed bedding, getting ready for Holiday Houseguest--Daniel's daughter Kris from Colorado. Although I don't know what days/nights exactly, just that she's planning to spend a few nights here. Last I heard....

Did some Christmas shopping, made good progress. Just about done.

A quiet evening, and hope to sleep well tonight.

Thank you to all who may have prayed for the surgical outcome--it turned out well. (No, not me.)

And thank you for reading. Hugs.

Tuesday 12.13.2011

I had a good workday with great co-workers.

My heart is flip-flopping tonight; a little unnerving, although it hasn't been as "busy" as it was.

Reason?? Maybe because the last two refills of the Femara/letrazole has been a different generic. Manufactured in India. And what is their quality control?? I've "googled" Indian drug manufacturing quality control, and didn't get too far.

Tomorrow is unplanned, though I have a few holiday tasks that could be done.

And the prayer hotline is lit up for those having surgery tomorrow.

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Monday 12.12.2011

Another Beautiful Day!

I got up and ready for work. Well, almost ready. I was just going to "do" my hair when the phone rang. It was my turn to be on-call. Umm. Ok... So put my pj's back on and climbed back into bed. Ahhh.

Dan got up to do his errands. When one of his afternoon appointments was cancelled, his face brightened. He was able to "go hit some golf balls" at the golf dome, which was as pleasant way to fill that unexpected time slot.

While he was gone, I went out for a jog in the beautiful sunshine. Wow. I took of my gloves, then my insulated sweatshirt. And pulled up my sleeves. It was at least 40 degrees. My forearms were a little pink when I got in, and they still look "healthy" tonight.

When he got back, we ate, he got his things, and left.

A quiet evening.

I work tomorrow.

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Sunday 12.11.2011

Beautiful, sunshiny day today.

We had a quiet morning, and decided to go out for breakfast. The first restaurant was overflow parking in the lot--we passed, and went over to Flap Jack Shack instead. I don't usually go out for breakfast--overpriced as I see it. And it was. But it was nice to sit across the table from my Daniel.

From there we made a couple more stops--Home Depot for a specialty light bulb, then over to Meijer for a few groceries.

Back home, it was a quiet afternoon.

He went over to his friend's, and I did some coursework. When he got back we had supper, and a quiet evening.

I'm scheduled to work tomorrow; he has a list for his day tomorrow.

I've felt pretty good today, thank you God.

And thank you for reading. Hugs.

Saturday, December 10, 2011

Saturday 12.10.2011

Slept pretty good, yippee! The sun was shining and the birds were noisy when I woke.

A quiet morning, and breakfast while I waited for the temperature to warm a little before going out for a jog. When I did go out, it was about 28 degrees with a light breeze. I wondered what the wind chill was.... But the sun was warm.

I cooled off, got ingredients out for supper.

We ate when Dan got home. He went back out to get gas for his car; when he got back, he said the price had gone up almost 10 cents/gallon. Geesh.

A quiet night.

Tomorrow I have to go to Jackson for a "drill" that we're doing for our staff, and later I have a Dinner Date with my husband. I'm looking forward to it.

And I've felt pretty good today.

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Friday 12.09.2011

I was pleased that I slept as well as I did. Thank you God. My head was just a bit sore, but sure felt like the migraine was ending. Thanks again.

An almost slippery drive in the snow--traffic was just a little slower this morning.

Busy on the unit today, but we got through it. Thanks to the great co-workers who support each other.

Finally, a safe drive home, and a quiet evening.

Tomorrow is a rest day, and Daniel comes home, too.

Hmm, maybe I'll cook something...

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Thursday 12.08.2011

What a Day!!

Meeting from 10-1 in Jackson, errands until dental appointment. Waited 40 minutes--have never waited longer than 5 or 10 minutes EVER in the 28 years I've been to that office. My anxiety level was rising.

After the x-rays were done, the hygienist sees something "suspicious". Crap. The new dentist (what? there's a new guy? yep--fresh out of school...) comes in and picks around and looks. Seems I have 3 new (small) cavities that need attention. CRAP again.

Since Deb had already done the scraping part of the cleaning, all that was left was the polishing part. I told her I had to defer the polishing--it was now 3:30. I had to pick up Sandy and Allison yet, get back to Holt, load the car, unload the car at the clubhouse and set up for my 5:00 party.

Over at Sandy's, (we missed picking Allison up from school, so now we waited for the bus) we visited a bit. Allison arrived, and we were on the way by 3:50.

And it was a good drive home, thank you God.

Got turned around and to the clubhouse about 4:50, and Tom and KS pulled in as I opened the trunk. Bruce, Bruce, and Diane came in a few minutes after them, and a couple more shortly after. Between the group of us, we got the place set up.

It was a small turnout, but we had a lot of fun, eating, talking and singing. Diane had brought her keyboard with her, and she brought it in and played/accompanied us. Thanks, Diane, your music was a wonderful contribution.

Thanks to all who helped set up and break down and carry stuff back upstairs with me. We made quick work of it, and I've got things sorted, washed up, and mostly put away.

I enjoyed seeing everyone.

Now I'm fighting a migraine.

Tomorrow is a workday.

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Wednesday 12.07.2011

Busy day today.

Unable to sleep after the school buses went by, I got up and started the day. I had computer stuff to do, then breakfast.

The majority of the afternoon was food prep for the Singing Party tomorrow night, (Thursday). Aspen Lakes Clubhouse, 5-9 pm, Potluck at 5pm.

Sloppy joes made, veggies cleaned and cut for the crudites plate. All the miscellaneous stuff collected to take to the clubhouse--trays, serveware, etc.--and boxed. And boxes carried downstairs, ready to load into the car. The list of last minute "remembers" tomorrow is pretty short.

I also got out for a jog this afternoon, when the sun was shining. Bonus! Thank you, God!

Tomorrow I'm in Jackson: meetings and appointments. I'll get back home and load the car, freshen up, and get the party started!!

Looking forward to seeing those of you that can come, and thank you for reading. Hugs.

Tuesday 12.06.2011

A long, busy workday. Glad it's over.

The drive home was ok, but with the temperature hovering at 31/32 degrees and light wet snow, the overpasses threatened to be greasy. But I got home safely, thank you God.

A quiet night with the occasional flip-flopping heartbeat.

Tomorrow I'll do the food prep for the Singing Party on Thursday.

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Monday 12.05.2011

What a day!

I had someone work the first part of the day for me, and was called and told that they wouldn't need me for the last four hours of the shift. Ok!!

I did a bunch of paperwork, and after being told not to come in to work, I weeded though some stuff that needed weeded (successfully, I might add), made a trip to the storage unit and the grocery store. Bonus afternoon!

I've felt pretty good today, overall.

Tomorrow is a workday.

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Sunday 12.04.2011

Started out a gloomy, drizzly day, stopped drizzling in the afternoon, then rain again this evening. I didn't sleep well, which surprised me.

We went out late morning, picking up a few things we each wanted.

He went over to his friend's house again this evening.

A quiet night.

I work the last 4 hours of the shift tomorrow; not sure when he'll be going back to the trailer.

I had a short period of heart irregularity this afternoon that didn't last very long, and I don't want to feel any this evening, either. Time will tell....

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Saturday 12.03.2011

I didn't sleep as much as I thought I would...but I didn't have to get up early, and had a quiet morning. I enjoyed breakfast, did a couple chores, then went out for a jog. While I was out, the gloomy sky had a brief opening, and the almost-sun broke through. I took it as God smiling on me.

After a shower, I got some food ready for when Daniel came in. He had brought his bedding and towels home this time, and he got the laundry started.

We had a quiet evening; he ended up going over to his friend's house to watch the last half of the MSU football game.

Not sure what we're doing tomorrow; I'm just happy to see him.

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Friday 12.02.2011

What a day!

Somehow my alarm got turned off, and I woke about a half hour late. And I was grateful that I woke when I did. I had been sleeping pretty good...

I left on time, taking the rest of my breakfast with me. And I see that it's been snowing. Lots of slush on the roads, making for slower travel. It was the kind of slush that grabs the wheels and can pull you off the road.

Like it did for a minivan in the median just a few miles down the road.

I made it safely and was happy to see the shuttle there.

Our day on the floor was very busy. I had a good day, but a rough one. I'm glad to be clocked out and home.

A quiet evening.

I noticed during the night that my heart was still irregular, but I had been able to sleep some. And tonight it's bopping around at times, also. Still not ready to take a daily pill for it.

Tomorrow I hope to get the rest of the seasonal decor done, with a trip to the storage unit. And I hope the weather is such that I can go out for a jog.

Thank you for reading. Hugs.

Thursday 12.01.2011

Another workday, that turned out ok after all. I was pulled off to do interviews--4 of them--and the co-worker left on the floor did a great job taking over. Thanks, Kim S.! You Rock!!

When I returned, I stepped back in. It was pretty easy to pick up where we were and the rest of the afternoon/evening went by.

A safe drive home, thank you God.

And a quiet evening.

Tomorrow is another workday.

My heart is flip-flopping around tonight. I hope it settles down.

Thank you for reading. Hugs.
